Owner/operator is very nice and helpful. Moved me to a front cabin when I found the back of one cabin a little small and isolated. Very unique accommodations - perfect for the area.

Quaint motel with very friendly staff. Of course it is dated, but in good repair. Brought back memories of family vacations as a kid 60 years ago.

Old fashioned chalet rooms in separate buildings. When the night got cold, she gladly brought us an electric heater since the furnace was off for the season. Gave her phone number for all night assistance if needed. Parking was convenient and assigned for each chalet. Very reasonably priced and clean. No breakfast, but fridge n microwave in the room.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary trip. We trailered or motorcycle into town and she was extremely accommodating with us needing a little extra space for our SUV, trailer, and motorcycle. I was expecting the house to be much smaller than it was but it was absolutely perfect for what we needed! We will definitely stay again if we come back to Custer!

Wonderful small motel with cute, though small, cabins. So much more character than other places. Inn keeper was super friendly making sure w has what we needed. Would stay there again if I’m in Custer again.

We were pleasantly surprised by this motel. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We felt very comfortable here and loved the cozy, charming feel of the property. The room was spotless with some very well thought out perks. The separate bedroom for a double queen room was an added delight for us who travel with kids. Travel guides were provided as was a fireplace in the room. The information sheet included in the room listed several recommendations for food, drinks or sightseeing while in the area.

Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by Michelle who assisted us with check-in and parking. Note: we are traveling in a full-sized pick up towing a 12 ft cargo trailer, approximately 35 ft in length all together. Michelle went above and beyond to find suitable parking for our big rig and we could not have been more grateful for her help! The chalet cabin was well appointed and very comfortable. The property was quiet overnight and we were able to get some good sleep after a long day on the road. We were extremely pleased with our stay here.

I loved this place. Very unique and perfect for me. I wouldn’t say quirky, but I seek out places that have character. The staff was very helpful with area questions, as well. Do much better than a hotel!!!!

This is the only place I stay in Custer, with over 10 years of traveling there for art shows. The Chalet is a historic motel with charming, very clean rooms. This is a safe, healthy and refreshing stay. Only a few steps to a local favorite coffee shop, the Mickelson Trail and downtown. Rooms are quiet and comfortable.

There weren't any kitchen facilities in my cabin. The room was very clean. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, helpful and always available for any questions. I never did figure out how to use the heater in the room. It wasn't too cold, but i could have gotten the chill out of the room. Too nice to use the AC.
