The Dao House is a surprise! As you enter the property from the road, you may not be impressed. The driveway/road surface is old and worn. The first cabins seen are older. And as you follow the signs to Guest Check-In or Registration, the route goes BEHIND the buildings. Then You find that the main lobby does not face the road at all, but seems to be at the back! So the building is turned around! After a while, you realize that is a very good thing. The lobby is older and beautiful. The theme is obviously tranquility and balance, for the entire Dao House. You know it is older when you have, not a key card, but a real authentic key for your room. And the room is beautiful. Simple and clean. Comfortable, quiet. No air conditioning? It isn't needed at all. the window provides a wonderful cool and REAL breeze. The view from my room was the mountain slope and woods. Wonderful. No TV! No need. The rooms do not have refrigerators. But they have two small common ones shared by guests. Wonderful ice a. Tea and coffee and pastries for breakfast. AND something I had never seen: an "oxygen room" where you can buy 20 minutes of various scented oxygen. And it was GREAT! I did it twice. I realized the Dao House is a real hideout. Away from the world and wonderful.

Incredibly clean room and wonderful stay! We were expecting the slow wifi and limited cell phone signal which was actually nice to keep us focused on connecting with nature. The staff were so helpful and kind and it was a great location close to the national park but very peaceful.

The view of Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park is spectacular! The lodge is old and gorgeous! No frills but very comfy. The staff were so nice and helpful! Having horseback riding right there is ultra convenient. We will stay there again!

THE BEST view of Longs Peak, and Twin Sisters right on the other side. Historical lodge with trails all around it- there was even a humble breakfast in the lobby. Peaceful and so close to estes park. Recommend.
