The setting was beautiful, peaceful, and close to Mount Rushmore and other Black Hills attractions. We enjoyed the unique glamping experience, the comfortable bed, the camp atmosphere, and the friendly staff. The property was well maintained, and it was a fun way to experience nature while still having some of the comforts of home. When not recommend going in July the heat was unbearable. She pretty much had to stay away from the tent until after the sun went down and then it was pretty miserably hot at night.

Our stay at Under Canvas was excellent. It was all the great things about camping without all the difficult things about camping. The beds were warm and comfortable, the s'mores were provided and the food in the dining tent was delicious. The staff were kind, welcoming, responsive and clearly worked very hard to make our stay great. Everyone in our family had a wonderful time.

Unplug and reset!! We stayed in the stargazer tent and it as very cool! The location/view was fantastic. The tents were so clean and well kept. The whole site was quiet during sleeping hours which we really appreciated. The staff was very nice and check-in/out was a breeze. Anything we needed the staff was able to provide quickly and even did so without asking for things we didn't notice. Food from the restaurant was nice, cleaner eating and very welcomed after eating on the road/fast food prior to arriving. The tents were spread out decent and not on top of each other which made it nice too. Overall a great experience, especially given our family does not like traditional camping! We would definitely book this site again and/or try out other Under Canvas locations in the future! 10/10 Would Recommend!

Okay this is how I like to camp! This was a great experience for our family. Many others wrote about the staff being friendly and the great accommodations- they were both top notch. Private shower and bathroom is a feature that is a must- in my opinion. We loved our stay and plan to stay at another Under Canvas location in the future. The only thing is the road leading to the site is rough and rocky (not the hotels issue at all), but having a full size truck helped us to navigate that road smoothly then some small cars/SUV. Is it essential, no, helpful, yes. Thank you UC for an incredible stay. Alexis was amazing and very attentive!

Amazing place to stay. The staff were incredible, and the food in the restaurant was really quite good - especially the breakfasts. To be able to grab a glass of wine and sit out on the deck and see Mt Rushmore light up is a treat!

Remember that the only power connections are portable batteries that charge mobile phones, devices and fans. Thats part of the fun, but plan accordingly.

Have butane lighters vs matches and please, please ensure the wood stoves are in good working condition! We did not have use of the wood stoves the first night but mgmt quickly resolved. Good was excellent and we slept like kings! Staff were incredible!

Our anniversary trip to Under Canvas was an experience we’ll never forget. Waking up to the incredible scenery each morning and ending our days under the stars created memories we’ll cherish for years to come. The setting was absolutely breathtaking—glamping at its finest. We loved being immersed in nature without sacrificing comfort. The food was delicious, and every meal felt like part of the celebration. What stood out most was the thoughtful staff. Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel genuinely welcomed and helped make our anniversary extra special. Thank you for helping create such wonderful memories. We can’t wait to return someday and relive the magic all over again.

We had a wonderful stay at Under Canvas Mount Rushmore. The setting, the atmosphere, and the way the property blends comfort with the Black Hills made it a great experience for our family. The UnderCanvas Team deserves a lot of credit — everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The tent setup and amenities were next level, and the overall environment was exactly what we hoped for. It’s a great base camp for families to visit the surrounding areas.
