We were given the 'penthouse', and it was spacious and comfortable. We had dozens of lorikeets eating from our arms and shoulders on the verandah. Brilliant! Thoroughly recommended.

Was an ideal distance from Merimbula overlooking the town. A great view of the bay and bushland which was full of wildlife. The room was very clean and neat. Janine the owner at the desk is a lovely lady and very helpful with local knowledge. Just wished I could have stayed longer.

Snug little hotel on the hillside above merimbula. Very friendly service. The most memorable aspect of this stay was getting up early to watch the sun rise over merimbula to a chorus of cockatoos, magpies, rainbow lorikeets and crows. I took several photos from the balcony. All rooms have northeast facing balconies with great views. I liked the location because of the views and the fact that it was very quiet, away from the bustle of town. It was about 2 minutes drive into town. For those who want to be on the beachfront or surrounded by cafes and restuarants, this is probably not the best location for you.

We were 3 couples, staying in adjoining rooms. Rooms were very clean, including the deck chairs and table. Lovely to sit outside with a cuppa, looking across to the distant sea and colourful birds below on the grass. The town was within easy reach because we had a car.

Amazing place! Fantastic people! Every piece of equipment in your room is new and modern (except a magnificent view from your personal balcony that was there even before the time when this Kingfisher Motel was built). All these birds, animals (and even the motel owners) are making your stay very special and, I’d say, remarkable. In the morning we took drive to one of local beautiful lakes or National Parks with one-two-three stopovers at oyster and prawn farms. Surprisingly, when we were back we found our room clean a fresh like a pink bottom of a baby. We got highly useful advice from Janine and the help with barbecue from Baron. Some people call him Byron believing that he is that famous poet Lord Byron. No, he is Baron just because Janine is a truly baroness. Thank you, baroness Janine and Baron-Byron (whatever). We will see you soon again, mates.
