If you enjoy going for walks and taking in the scenery, this is the place to stay. It's in a lovely position close to the buon river and the tune skyway. While the accommodations are basic, with separate lounge areas and bathrooms, it was clean and tidy. This is the ideal location for a big family or a family to connect with nature. Check-in was quick and simple, and the personnel was friendly. You also get free access to the park and skyway as an added benefit while staying at the lodge.

Tune Lodge was a fantastic location for a overnight stay. I highly recommend it for its convenience alone because it is right next to the airways, visitor centre and cafe. Im normally not a fan of shared lodging, but my partner and I were fortunate enough to only be sharing the lodge with one other friendly stranger. I basically had the entire women's shower, bathroom, and toilets to ourselves! The double room itself was quite small, but the bed was quite large and comfortable. If you can store your luggage and belongings under the bed, the rooms are not very bad. The kitchen was fully stocked, and everything was clean. I found my stay in the lodge to be quite comfortable and cozy. There's nothing better than a roaring fire and listening to the rain outside. Keep in mind there's no reception, but there's plenty to do and see outside. We had breakfast at the cafe the next morning and the staff was very warm and friendly. I actually had my only decent coffee on my whole trip to Tasmanian. If you don't mind driving out of the forest and back, I would recommend trying the cafe. The only reservation I made was for the water it has a natural orangerust color derived from tannins. Its apparently safe to drink, but the color may scare some people off.

There are also no front desk staff here, so requesting help was difficult. We managed to enter after some assistance from the lodge guests. Although you must be close to the visitor center to use the wifi, there are adequate cooking amenities and WiFi. It was really nice to be able to walk at dusk and see the place after dark with a few torches! We stayed in a lovely little home called The Tune Cabin. We reserved for 5 people, but there were only beds for 4 people and a very small 2-person couch. Because of this, one of us had to sleep on the floor, which was quite uncomfortable. It was really difficult to enter the cabin's gate to enter, and because we arrived after hours, it was difficult for us to access our lodging.

After arriving at the tune air walk car park, we discover that the tire we were renting had just been flattened. Tune is tucked away in an area without cell phone coverage. The receptionists were very welcoming, allowing us to call for roadside assistance on their phone or request that they provide us with an air pump or help us hire one of the staff to change the tyre. We really want to express our gratitude to Heather at the front desk and Chris for changing the tyre while we enjoyed the air walk. A truly wonderful time, as well as the beautiful woodland surrounding us.

The best way to get to tune airway and other lesser foothills in the area is to arrive the night before and spend the night for an early start. The lodge has a secure and comfortable bed for the night. The lodging choices are scarce, but the lodge provides a safe and comfortable bed for the night. It is very simple, but not primitive, requires self-catering skills, and does not expect much. Better than the usual backpacking. If you arrive after the kiosk closes, make sure you know how to access the locked key safe. We only shared with a different pair, but if it is full the shared loungekitchendining and ablutions areas might become a little crowded. Tune is 90 km and 90 minutes from the heart of the round trip, turning the journey into a long day. Staying the night enhances the fun and allows you to take a night walk on the airway. Remember that the kiosk is only open at a limited period of time.
