I must say right away that this is not the hotel for you if you need to be useful for the facilities in a town it is halfway up a mountain and about 20 minutes drive from Koetschach, so taking the chalkboard option is almost essential. The food is good, the service is friendly and efficient, and the rooms are comfortable. The hotel is a couple of hours walk from auf der mussen, an alpine meadow on the mountain top directly behind it. The only downside is that the mealtimes are fixed and if you want to have a choice you must be in the restaurant shortly after the doors open. We would have liked more flexibility, but the package was very reasonable so we accepted the restriction. Breakfast is buffetstyle, the food is very fresh and has a good variety, The views over the valley are absolutely fantastic, so get a room in the front if you can. If you love alpine flowers, as I am, the hotel is only a couple of hours walk from on der mussen, an alpine meadow on the top of the mountain directly behind the hotel. The hotel is highly popular and has a lot of return custom so you must reserve it, but I look forward to returning soon, hopefully, I can also botanist in the sunshine for a change. By the way, I don't think there is a lift.
