The location is very strategic and near to Christmas markets. They also move our luggage for us. But the room is clean but the first room faces the street and is very noisy. I would stay here again.

We arrived after hours and were able to get our key from the box. We had a room on the first floor, which was great. No lift, but the stairs were adequate. The apartment itself was spacious enough, but the bathroom smelled bad, and the shower was very tiny. The foam mattress required replacement, and the bed squeaked with every movement. The train and other people roaring from below were terrible. The windows lack double glazing. We had an unpleasant and hard night. I was aware that it would be a basic room without fancy amenities, so the lower price and as we were only stopping here to get a better night's sleep were adequate, but we expected to get a half decent night's sleep.

Overall a reasonable option for a budget-conscious traveler, but if you're looking for a more luxurious experience, there are some minor drawbacks. As far as hotels in downtown salzburg go, urban stay is quite simple on a budget, but you do get what you pay for. The front desk isn't staffed 247, which isn't a big deal if you arrive at those hours, but it is an inconvenience if you arrive later. Service was adequate, though the front desk staff member gave us the incorrect hours for the castle. The room was small but adequate and the beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom could have used an update though the fitted plastic walls felt like an RP bathroom, but it was fully functional.
