This hotel was really clean and close to the train station. I would stay here Again. There were a lot of abandoned buildings, homelessness in the area. Not the greatest atmosphere but i never felt unsafe while i stayed there.

Let’s start with the good, because it’s mostly good: The hotel is very easy to find, and conveniently located near Gare du Midi. It’s such a quick trip that one day I decided to drop my shopping at the hotel and head back out rather than carry things with me. The station nearby is pretty convenient for going to just about anything you want to do in Brussels. The hotel itself was clean and felt pretty safe, with card access to get in and take the elevator. The room had most of the amenities I needed, and I had brought anything else along with me. The room had cookware and dishes, a microwave, range and dishwasher. They provided some decent instant coffee packets as well. There were tons of outlets around the room, which made me wish I’d brought more converters. There were no USB outlets in the room, which would have been more convenient. The bad: When people say the area is sketchy, boy howdy is it sketchy. It took about a minute or two on my first day for two pickpockets to tail me and go for my bag. I was planning to walk to the touristy area since I was told it’s not far from the hotel, but after that I took the train. I never had any issues after that (I don’t normally carry a backpack but did on that day due to rain—every other day I had a smaller bag that was more secure and less of a target), but the area is still pretty run down with unsavory characters lingering about. I was always a bit concerned that someone would piggyback into the hotel with me.

Hotel and service excellent. Area not so great and rubbish and loiters in the street made me feel a bit unsafe arriving after dark. Still convenience to train station would be worth it for males.

I loved this little apartment! It’s close to the train station and has a great little convenience store and a butcher’s shop right across the street.
