A boutique hotel that was truly awesome! I contacted the owner to alert him of my ETA the evening before & he rapidly replied with my room # & provided all necessary access info. Manteka Logies is very well located, virtually beside the tourist office & the Flanders Field Museum. The room had a comfy bed, a bar fridge, Nespresso coffee maker (or another brand that worked the same way), several coffee pods, creamers, sugar, a small kettle & an assortment of tea. There was a quaint, small seating area that worked very well for me - I could spread my things out. I was unaccustomed to the controls for lights, AC, etc but quickly figured it out. I had already been invited to contact the owner at any time through my stay if I had any issues or wanted anything. I met him 2 days before my departure & we had a lovely chat - a very friendly man. He asked me how I was enjoying Ypres/Ieper & did I want fresh towels or more coffee. I took him up on the coffee pods offer - excellent coffee, in my opinion! Truly top drawer, cozy & very handy to the medieval part of the city! While I did not try out his restaurant right next door, one should know it exists. QR code on the front door allows for online reservations. It seemed busy enough while I was there so that's a good sign. I just had other plans. I would stay at Manteka Logies again if I return to Ypres/Ieper, Belgium!!

Beautiful room with modern facilities. The entry code box was tricky to navigate without live staff present, but the room was delightful to be in.

We stayed for 3 nights in May whilst visiting Commonwealth War Graves. The hotel is very central in Ypres. We parked 5mins walk away on Minneplein where it’s free. You can drop off bags at the hotel – there is half hour parking very close but we travel light so it wasn’t necessary. The room looks pretty new. The bed was big and comfortable. We appreciated the coffee machine, the safe, the fridge and the hair dryer. The bathroom was very big and the shower was great. It was a great space in a great location – there was just a few things that would have helped to make it perfect. State of the art technology… but for us – we found it very complicated. We managed to get the lights off but we never figured out the air con – we just kept the patio doors open instead. Maybe a small printed guide would have helped. (we are quite old!) There was no furniture on the terrace – don’t bother paying extra for the terrace as you can’t really go out there. A small patio set would have made all the difference. We could have used a suitcase – luggage rack. Wheeling cases through the streets and then putting them on the bright white quilt covers just felt wrong! We could have used a choice of pillows. There were 4 but they were all the same – very thick and hard. Great for side sleepers but my partner sleeps on his front and likes a thin pillow. He was very uncomfortable and ended up with a rolled up jumper as a pillow. In all – I’d definitely recommend the room, and I’d be happy to return.
