After a long and grueling journey, I reached blagoevgrad tired and a little frazzled. After being astonished by sofia and a nonstop taxi driver, I had no great first impression of Bulgaria. However, the hotel cardinal was more to my taste. Its quite affordable, the reception staff is pleasant, efficient, and speaks excellent English. Free, quick, and reliable wifi is available. Its very well situated directly across the river from the American University in Bulgaria campus, which is probably your main reason to visit blagoevgrad, 10 minutes from the bus stop, and less than 5 minutes from the unexpectedly lovely pedestrian area. Theres also a really good and extremely reasonably priced restaurant next door, which I strongly recommend. If I ever need to go back to blagoevgrad, I will definitely stay at the hotel cardinal again.

We frequently stay for 34 weeks at a time and the housekeeper who has been working there for years makes sure fresh towels and bottled water are there when we need them. Despite the fact that our Bulgarian is not excellent, the hotel personnel is always friendly and makes us feel welcome. The restaurant in Blagoevgrad is among the best, and the service is excellent. As comfortable as a hotel can be when you travel, it feels like home. WiFi was free and ok for most things, but it was a bit slow for any streaming. Highly recommended!.

Very great place. This hotel offers simple, lovely, clean accommodations in an excellent location. Most of the staff in reception only speak English in restaurants. Staff at the reception were very helpful at all times. Excellent quality for the price paid.

I had a good experience here when I visited to celebrate a birthday with my friends. This is a wonderful hotel, and the service was very good.

The price is worth it. The service is excellent, and the hotel is in the heart of the city, and the rooms are spacious and clean, and the restaurant is on the ground floor. There is not much English spoken, but only a young girl at the front desk was able to assist us. It is difficult to carry bags because there is no elevator.
