There are so many positives about the James Bay Inn. First the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The whole place had historical charm. My favorite part of the inn was its location and neighborhood. It is in a quaint and quiet flowery alcove of Victoria, with the beautiful park just a couple of blocks away in one direction, the rocky coast a little bit of a walk away, the bustling Fisherman's Wharf area with all of its touristy fun things to do and pretty vistas, and in a couple of blocks in another direction you have a huge awesome grocery store, pharmacy and local restaurants, for a more regular residential vibe. Everything is just a 10 minute walk at the most. Its super pretty all around the Inn, and the Inn is a very nice place to stay. The restaurant down stairs also had an amazing breakfast. Incredible pancakes, bacon and sausage and yummy home fries. I would definitely stay here again the next time I go to Victoria!

JBI staff and accommodations were warm and welcoming. Even had help carrying our luggage to/from 3rd room bc there is no elevator in the 150+ year old home. Having a dinner/restaurant and pub on site was not only convenient but added to its charm. I would definitely stay there again… preferably longer next time.

We stayed three nights recently. First time there. We stayed in the Heritage House, which is next door to the hotel. We were in the balcony room. It’s an apartment really. Lovely old home, beautifully restored, with four suites in total. Immaculate well appointed bathroom. Very comfortable bed with six pillows. Beautiful quiet residential neighborhood. Twenty minute walk to the oceanfront. Close to everything. The dining room and pub share the same menu. The food is awesome. The service was beyond compare. The front desk staff were courteous, friendly, very helpful.

We booked a standard double bed this time as that was all that was available when I booked. Not a lot of space in that room even with just a double bed. The sink to the bathroom was outside of the room with the toilet and shower even though the bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom. It was a bizarre set up. Bed was comfy, clean and quiet. Staff as usual was very welcoming and helpful. Great location!

This is a lovely property and has great history! The lobby is up a set of outdoor stairs so not accessible. Staff would be available to help. The staff were lovely!

Charming, eclectic vibe. Great location for walking to the shore, parks and Discovery Coffee. We saw sea otters at Dallas beach close by! Roy was a terrific help.
