As soon as we pulled up, we had a bad omen. The inn's exterior paint was noticeable peeling in numerous spots. I've seen reviews that say the interior has been updated, but it did seem a little antiquated to us. Our standard double room was tiny, mostly European size, which is okay, be ready if you book a comparable room. Our bed was very close to the hall, and any movement or activity there could be easily heard. Its location is excellent, as is often noted, and you must park on the street as is often mentioned. We had no trouble finding local free spaces in late September, which is in front of unrestricted street parking. I don't know if this remains the case during the height of the tourism season. On short notice when we made our reservation, the options at the hotel and inn in Lunenburg were limited, so we chose to stay here. We would choose elsewhere if we visited Lunenburg again.

My daughter and I toured Nova Scotia for a week, and our stop at Smugglers Cove was the icing on the cake. We stayed in room 307, and the sleep and cleanliness of the room were a 100. Micheal and rita were excellent hosts, showing us around the town with a history lesson and some food. We would highly suggest a night's sleep at this hotel, and the location makes it simple to walk around the city. We'll undoubtedly return when we return. Many thanks to Richard and rita for a wonderful two-night stay!.

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Lunenburg. The staff here was extremely hospitable and helpful. Our rooms were pristine and extremely comfortable. The hotel has so much charm and is in the heart of the city. The walk to the waterfront is a minute. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay, look no further.
