The hotel and staff were fantastic as always. The only complaint I had was with a planned event that was an extra charge (I’m fine with that part) in one of the bars had only one bartender and one server for over 100 guests. Don’t know if that was the pub’s issue or the event planning issue but that was the only downside.

The room was clean, recently renovated with a new interior, and within walking distance of all popular spots.

The Strathcona is a traditional boutique hotel. But it has been updated and modernized. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was recently renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at the Strathcona again.

We showed up early and they were happy to keep our luggage while we walked around Victoria. Hotel is in the heart of town and close to excellent shopping and dining, yet was surprisingly quiet. Excellent hotel and excellent price.

Reception staff, Jack, was delightful and very helpful. My room was comfortable and quiet. Didn't like the shower as the shower doors didn't allow me ti reach the controls as they only opened one way. Location was perfect.

After reading other reviews, our primary concern was access to parking as we showed up on a statutory holiday with a huge celebration going on in the inner harbour. The staff was great and we were able to grab the parking pass well ahead of check-in (the lot is dedicated Strathcona parking, uncovered, and about a block away). We brought ear plugs but didn't have to use them, it was dead quite on the third floor even with the holiday parties going on late into the night, though if you were adjacent to the roof top bar, I could see how the noise complaint reviews are likely very valid. The location was phenomenal, we walked to everything and had a wonderful couple days in downtown Victoria.

Great clean rooms. Only downside was that we were above the patio and it was a little noisy

We stayed in this hotel for only one night and we loved it. The location was great and we can walk to the parliament in about 10 minutes. Parking is close and the price is very reasonable ($15). The staff especially Anja were very nice and helpful. We would come back next time we are in Victoria.

Everyone we encountered on staff was amazing! They held our bags when we got in early and were helpful with food recommendations. Close to alot of fun things to do in walking distance. Hotel room was clean, air conditioning worked great 😊 Would recommend.

We really enjoyed the location. Very central. The Sticky Wicket pub is great fun and they were accommodating to increasing the family area seating since the world cup was playing. The room is a little bit older but well maintained with comfortable beds. Our room had an AC, and it worked well. My only disappointment was that my teenagers were not allowed in the Games room. Please consider some early hours where well behaved older kids can join their parents for a couple of games. I completely understand (and applaud) adults only after a certain hour.

Great location and clean, comfortable rooms. Love the attached bars, easy walking distance to everything you need to do/see. We will stay again.
