We found the comfort of our room at Anantara to be 5-star quality indeed. The overall size, furniture, large bath tub and patio space was exactly what we needed for our two small children. The hotel itself is well suited to accommodate children. We visited during Spring Break and this is an excellent time to visit because the Chinese are not on holiday. The resort is so quiet and peaceful! Perhaps our best experience at this hotel was the quality of service, specifically our interactions with the hotel employees. They were very polite, kind and helpful. We certainly didn't want to leave. The only misgiving we had was the overall health of the surrounding area, which is impoverished. We were definitely looking for a eco-friendly getaway from Shanghai where we work and this location fit the bill based on the hotel's own description of the area. It is described as being pristine tropcial rainforest, but this area is more subtropical and there isn't too many pristine areas to be observed. Yes, the Lancang River (Mekong) runs right by the hotel, but we saw some trash floating down it and litter along the shoreline. Mengla Town right next door is also not a very clean town and much of the area is agricultural land and not pristine rainforest. That said, the Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden is well worth the visit. It's huge and beautiful and right by the hotel. Despite the few misgivings we had, we would definitely visit again if the chance arises.

To start with the positives, the hotel is essentially a subtropical garden. Very green and the gardens are more or less kept. The rooms are nice, spacious, and clean, and the stuffing ok. Its mostly quiet, but they use carts or trolleys for housekeeping, which make terrible noise when rumbling over property lanes. On the downside, those trolleys make your child wake up from a midday nap even when doors and windows are closed. Like most Chinese 5 star hotels, they offer the cheapest instant coffee in the minibar. Service in the restaurant is rather slow, sometimes they forget something but the prices are moderate. We intended to enjoy sunny days and clean air, but don't make a mistake, it's very smog, ten to fifteen times more than the WHO limits for smog. A botanical garden guide told us that once the rainy season begins it will not be smoggy anymore. So sun protection is not very much required because the sun doesn't go through and the moon is deep red on the night sky. The pools offer worn-out or broken deckchairs, old or no mattresses, and just a few towels, if they are taken or you need them, you must hunt for staff to get one. The hotel changed the upgrade policy before and during our stay, so it was confusing for us, and they didn'

Amazing hotel, very relaxing, and well-maintained. The facility is quite spacious with beautiful flowers and a fantastic smell of nature, as well as fresh air and the sounds of birdsong even on rainy days. Location is very close to the botanical garden and West Gate. The staff are kind, kind, and helpful. The restaurant menu on site is varied and includes traditional western dishes. The pool is good, the hot and cold areas. The patio hot chocolate was very appreciated.

Although this resort is not in a strategic location, car rentals are convenient, and the trip from Jinling Xishuangbanna gas airport is short! On a good roads tollway, it takes about an hour to get to the resort. The rooms are spacious and really comfortable Our room had a balcony with a river view! The staff is amazing, and there is a lot to see close by, particularly Xishuangbanna botanical gardens. However, if you simply want to relax, sit back, and unwind, this is the place to do it.

I will definitely not return. In one of the pool villas, I stayed at this motel after a wonderful time about the same time in 2015. There was no special recognition as a Tarantara member, so the transparent, unwritten upgrade policy that forced me to be in the room I had reserved. What's wrong with that? The staff is friendly and works diligently. The garden is maintained good, and in my memory, it was at a different level six years ago the bugs are really bothersome. It's a little place, all optimally within walking distance. Although a little pricey, the food at the Dai Restaurant is excellent in terms of quality. The swimming pool is spotless, as is the gym. beautiful paths and walkways. Overall, compared to the past, a disappointment. Is better not to go back to paradiselike locations after a few years.
