The location is excellent. It is simple to get a taxi to get around. The room is tidy and wellkept. Good size. competent staff. When the to in my room broke down, they came and repaired it. The air conditioner was broken, they came and explained that it would not be turned out in November, which was a crucial time in the year, and they urged us to open the window. WiFi is free, but it can be quite slow. Lunch and breakfast are sufficient. There is no English spoken. The worst part is that nobody speaks English. Thats a good thing since I was traveling with someone who speaks the language. Dinner was terrible because I noticed that it was lunchtime! I had lunch earlier that day and supper there that same day. The food was cold, and I bet some of the food sat there for hours. I finally had a nasty diarrhea for a few days. Because the air conditioner isnt turned on, it can get very hot during the day. Since this is a best western franchise, I was not too apprehensive about the quality and food safety.

But no bar. This hotel is very nice. Good and clean rooms, but no room service. The location is a bit off the grid so you need to take a taxi for most activities outside the hotel. The beds were hard the traditional Asian way.

We only stayed there for 2 nights. The room is a good size and very clean. We are staying there for the location where we are doing business. The customer service is just fine. Breakfast is not the best for westerners.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel, it offers a great value for the money. I stayed here for a week during a summer vacation with my family. The hotel has a new look, maybe newly renovated as the room I stayed in was newly polished and unexpectedly clean for a hotel in China under four stars. The complimentary breakfast was generally delicious. The staff are helpful and friendly, had called room service several times for adapters and all that and they came up to me in 5 minutes. The hotel is in a great location, so I was able to take a cab almost anywhere at a fair taxi rate. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Ximen!.
