I stayed at the Fen he hotel for 7 weeks this summer while my spouse taught at a local university. The hotel's website and reviews indicate four-star comfort, but they must be true to the time the hotel first opened many years ago. The restaurant on the main floor is currently gutted and being renovated, the health club in the basement is gutted, the roof top garden is storing spare toilets and has a clothesline for hotel staff to dry their uniforms, and breakfast is provided in cramped conditions in some lounges on the grd floor. Carpets throughout the hallways and rooms are dirty and the room furniture is stained and grimy. Still, there are lots of rooms including two room suites with and without kitchens, very large rooms with king beds and small rooms with twin beds. Some long-term visitors like us and tour groups of well-behaved young people are among the clientele. The hot pot and refrigerator are not working in most rooms. Maintenance employees are readily available to fix things but they typically need to be there a few times before it is actually repaired. Jinshajiang Road, the Metro stop, is 20 minutes by foot and taxis are usually on Zaoyang Road. There are many local restaurants such as pizza hut, McDonald's and other within 5 minutes on foot.
