This hotel is set in the older part of Qingdao. It is a beautiful property. The hotel itself is a bit dated but nice. Beds are hard and toilets are fancy! Staff is very helpful!

A friend and I stayed for just one night. It was a great, cute hotel right next to the German ex-Governor's Mansion Museum. Easy walk to a bunch of things. Staff was great.

非常好的酒店，无论是楼道还是房间都充斥着一种浪漫、整洁、干净、精致、极具艺术情调，上下车有服务人员热心的帮助开车门，行李员彬彬有礼，进入客房会详细耐心的介绍房间的各项设施，非常绅士。当我打不开保险箱时，服务人员迅速赶到耐心解决，让我感到每位服务人员高质量的服务品质。住在怡堡会让人充分感受到酒店人性化的管理理念，有为小朋友准备的游乐设施、小沙坑、喂小兔子等，连书吧都有特别为小朋友准备的儿童书籍。特别推荐酒店的中餐厅，厨师技艺精湛，每道菜都是经典，连一向对菜品要求颇为苛刻的老父亲都夸赞：“挑不出毛病”。且回到家还在念叨怡堡中餐厅的菜品。总体来说，对怡堡酒店非常满意，不仅推荐给朋友入住，而且下次去青岛还要住在怡堡，因为住在哪里就像回到了家一样温暖。

很安静的地方，进入酒店有个小坡要爬。酒店有电瓶车预约到南门，到的那天有行李，南门的师傅热心帮助约电瓶车来接，住的几天也都是同一个司机师傅开电瓶车送出来，老人家走不动真是多亏了他们！在酒店内遇到的每一个人都很nice，酒店的中餐厅出品好。总服务台的工作人员专业有礼。酒店附近有总督府、信号山，经他们指点路线，有近路去信号山、公交车站。 check out时我差点忘了拿回押金，工作人员叫住我，还提醒我检查是否有其他遗忘。我们离开时他们指点如何去公交车站，帮忙提行李送下楼梯。真是太多感谢了！酒店没有电梯，提着行李上下楼对于孩子和老人来讲确实费点劲。我唯一觉得遗憾的是，房间内没有阅读灯，床头的灯光过暗，灯光方向也不适合，写字台上的灯也暗；整个房间找不到可以看书的地方。如此安静优美的酒店，如果房间内有阅读灯，有蓝牙音响设备，就太好了。我自己带的书因为灯光不够亮不能看呢。酒店的书吧灯光也偏暗呢。

This hotel is in the German section of Qingdao. The hotel is very clean, and service is good. There is an excellent breakfast that comes with the room. The hotel is decorated with many art works, and is interesting just for that. Staying at this hotel is more like a European experience than a Chinese experience. The surrounding area is nice, but a little difficult to find a taxi to other parts of the city. Make sure you ask the hotel to call a taxi rather than wander out into the streets.

Freundlicher Empfang. Sehr schön eingerichtetes Zimmer. Sehr guter Zustand und sehr wohnlich. Äussers ruhige Lage aber doch nahe an der alten Stadt. Sehr gutes Frühstück (chinesisch wie westlich). Restaurant serviert auch sehr gutes Essen. Hotel absolut empfehlenswert.

A bit costly for the facilities but it's a very unique experience living next to a castle like heritage building used to be the residence of German Governor. The surrounding was very nice for morning walk but you need to do it out of visiting hours as most of it belonged to the ticket required heritage site. Hotel itself is nice with very friendly staff but the reception is quite under staffed. You will have difficulty getting a taxi and be prepared to walk down the slope to get transportation. As we spoke Chinese, it's quite ok and we spent a day walking comfortably around the nearby attractions and then take a taxi back. Not many locals know the hotel / governor house, you have to mentioned 黄县路 or 迎宾馆。

Meine Frau und ich waren 3 Nächte im 'The Castle'. Es ist mitten in der Altstadt auf einem Hügel gelegen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, das Personal sehr freundlich. Allerdings sprach kaum jemand ein Wort englisch und die Kommunikation war daher manchmal mühsam. Die Matratzen waren sehr hart, aber auf Anfrage haben wir weiche Unterlagen bekommen. Ein paar Meter weiter im Keller des echten Castle ist ein westlich orientiertes Restaurant 'Ratskeller' mit einem tollen Biergarten.

The surrounding is excellent, feeling in a resort. Located next to a park, close to residential alleys where a lot of Chinese authors and academics use to live. 15 minutes walk to the beaches. Staff are excellent, very caring and understanding. Superb service! We travel with my elderly parents. Staff keep an eye on them all the time. The only downside is the inconvenience to get the taxi. Hotel is inside the courtyard of the State Guest House. No taxi waiting. The staff at the gate have to stop passing by taxi. It may take a while. Other than this, everything else is excellent.

Great location for my purpose. I booked 2 standard rooms but was told not available. The hotel offered us a free-upgrade - a 3-bedroom suite with large family room, all in the attics of an older building. Tired of modern hotels, we gladly accepted.

Me and my girl friend booked a suite, We liked the view outside, and the castle is pretty chill, very quite place. No body can bother you over there, and the service is good too. front desk call the text for us to the airport, the breakfast was good too. the room was clean, but there was cigarette butt on the balcony otherwise it will be perfect. over all we had a good time.
