Overall, this is the most hospitable hotel in China for us. The room was very large and stylish. The restaurant was tasty and affordable. The receptionist came to meet us because our taxi couldn't find the exact location of the hotel. He set up a good driver to see the Terracotta army in just 45 minutes by car and take us to the airport. They also graciously held on to our luggage after we checked out while we were doing the sights and generously let us stay for a few hours while we were waiting to get to the airport.

We tried a very chinese hot pot near by, and we loved it. Despite not being in the city center, it was a great hotel. The surroundings were great, there are many places to see and restaurants nearby.

We just came back from xian, and we are still talking about how wonderful the trip was. To me, where I can rest my head is crucial because, let's face it, discovering new locations can be a lot of work. Our requirements were met by the Time Tunnel Designer Hotel. When we got there at midnight, their employees greeted us at the vehicle to carry our belongings. They quickly settled us into a lovely room where we could rest and get ready for the week. The room itself was very spacious, with a cool industrial design, and it was an old textile factory, so instead of trying to wipe everything out, they just embraced it. I won't lie. The exposed bathroom took some getting used to. Luckily, my partner and I have been together for ten years, so we were okay, but if youre traveling with a romantic partner and still want a little mystery, I would pick another location. The restaurant was fantastic. We both have very sensitive stomachs, and after eating there, we often end up there after long days of sightseeing. Everyone was really warm and friendly, even if they didn't speak English. The only drawback is that it is quite far from the city center. We personally enjoyed it because it was peaceful and the International Art District was a great and fun place to explore. Also, the metro is just a 5-minute walk away so you

The hotel itself is a lovely little place tucked away inside this neighborhood. It is clean well maintained and well run. The rooms are spacious and decorated in the spirit of time travel. That is to say, you feel like you have gone back to the is. I should say that while the theme is the 1950 s, the actual facilities are modern and have all the conveniences one would expect from a modern facility, the hotel and its surroundings have character. It was a lovely alternative to the traditional cookie cutter locations.

I needed a great home base with friendly staff because I am a smart female traveler, but I don't speak any Chinese. I decided this was the place for me and the wonderful manager was perfect. After spending a week at a Wyndham resort in the heart of town, I was worried when I was dropped off in an apparently random area, and then discovered that Barn would be out for a few days. Needless to say, everyone on staff is friendly and helpful. They took my phone to translate, called friends to answer questions, and even drove me to the bank because they were afraid it would close before I could walk there. The metro is quite accessible on foot, even in the cold, so getting to the city center was simple. The room was very comfortable and clean. If you don't enjoy amazing, authentic industrial renovations and art, this isn't for you. However, if you enjoy art and history, and want to see the future of young, hip Chinese suburbs on the brink of greatness, visit the banjo international art zone and stay at the time tunnel.
