In the Bocagrande district of Cartage, this hotel is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast served on the balcony is quite good. There are quite a few affordable restaurants close to the hotel, and the beach is only a 5-minute walk away. To get to the old town, consider taking a cab or public transport.

Excellent and strong wifi I work online teaching students in china at the earliest hour of the morning, so this was important and I would go up the roof deck and work, as the sun set. The staff was helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. Breakfast was good. My kids liked the neighborhood, even with constant vendors walking around. It gave them the chance to practice their Spanish. The mall across the street, easy access to the beach, vendors and restaurants all made for a fun 3-night stay. It is very easy to hail a taxi right outside the door. Ive read not to take a cab off the street, but I don't think it's something to worry about. All the taxi drivers we had from here or the walled city were great. And entertained by our poor Spanish a trip to the old town cost about 7 or 8 mil 2 or 3 bucks and is an easy ride. All local foods, grocery stores, and drugstores are available within a block or two. My daughter forgot her contact sense solution it was 50 feet away from the drug store It can be noisy at night, but it's just like a city sound everywhere. I'm from new orleans, so this didn't bother me at all, but if you need silence at night, ask for a room away from the street. A good shower was good. Please do not complain about low water
