The atmosphere surrounding the pool is first class. Everyone is satisfied once the party atmosphere kicks in and you will have the best time of your life. If you are the only couple in the pool, you can get a complete tan, but that's all. Drinks and meals are good and cheap, but that's all.

Unfortunately, this place has been neglected. Dangerously unclean, with broken stair tiles, rusty and jagged railings and does not appear to be kept up. The stairs' railing is rusted through and missing in spots. We were a little worried the entire place would cave in during our stay, but the bedding appears to be clean. The rooms are sparse. The staff served good food on a low scale that was pleasant. Nice beachfront location! Owners would appear to be watering it down until it is condemned.

The Copacabana hotel and suites are right on the beach. For those who want to be on the beach while still having the option of hanging by a pool this hotel has several pools unlike most of the other hotels in the area. Their main pool has a swim up bar. There is a restaurant on premises but the hotel is located a short block away from the main strip where there are dozens of great restaurants to choose from. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They were extremely friendly, helpful, and bent over backwards to make our vacation the best it could be. The only negative is that the hotel could use an update. On that note, so could all the other hotels in the area except the newest one built. My wife and I will be heading back to Costa Rich and when we do, we will definitely make the Copacabana our destination.
