I had no issues during my stay. Check-in was simple, and I was provided with a map and lots of helpful tips. The room was pleasant, with a fantastic view through the expansive windows. There was no aircon in my room, which I feared would be a problem, but I didn’t get hot at all. A ceiling fan would still be a useful addition though. The wind outside could be slightly noisy at times, but that would probably apply to lots of hotels in the area. The ladies serving breakfast in the morning didn’t necessarily speak perfect English, but then it’s a Spanish speaking country. They spoke enough to get by, plus they were still extremely friendly and I enjoyed practicing my dreadful Spanish skills with them. It is a little bit of an uphill walk back up to the hotel from the town, but I was fine with it despite not being at my fittest right now. There are always taxis around if needed too.

Amazing staff! They were extremely friendly and helpful. Both check-in and check-out went smoothly and they were eager to help plan activities and answer any questions. My original private transportation could no longer make it before my flight and the hotel staff was very supportive and helped me secure transportation within minutes. So grateful for the support and care they have for their clients!

Plusieurs stationnement disponibles. Terrasses pour admirer la vue. Les chambres sont très confortable et propre.

The hotel staff are ultra helpful with planning activities around town. They demonstrate a lot of care so their guests feel weclome. Choosing the room at the last possible second makes me wish I planned to stay longer.

This was my family's second stay at Hotel Don taco. I love it there! The room was great - the restaurant and bar in the hotel is convenient with great food and staff. The staff is always helpful. It helps if you speak Spanish as they do not always speak English perfectly but that is true all over Costa Rica except at the big tourist places, airport etc. The best amenity of the hotel is the resident dog, Paco, who we want to adopt every time we visit. He's wonderful. The staff is great and the village of Santa Elena very accessible from the hotel, yet its just far enough the village to be mainly quiet and gorgeous views of the sky and mountains day and night.

Friendly and accommodating staff, room and grounds clean and well kept. We felt comfortable and safe staying with our 2 kids and would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in this area. The breakfast included was great as well.
