We've just stayed at La Rosa de Ortega for a week. It was amazing! The area is really quiet, but still distinctively Cuban. For us, living in Havana Vieja would definitely not have been as relaxing as living a little bit outside of the main area. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes with a local Taxi to get to the main attractions of Havana. But you can easily spend a whole day staying at La Rosa de Ortega without going to the city. There is so much well mantained greenery on the property and it feels so calming. There is a nice lookout over the city, where we recommend drinking one of the many yummy cocktails as the sun goes down. But especially the people and the food were incredible. The waiters went out of their way time and time again to make our stay as lovely as possible. We have to admit that before we came here we thought Cuban Cuisine doesn't have much to offer, but the cooks here are very skilled in showing off the best sides of their traditional Cuisine. By car there are many nice places you can visit within a two hour drive or less, we recommend Las Terrazas or Playa Santa Maria del Mar. Overall, we will definitely be back soon!

The property was a taxi ride from the main area of Havana but taxis were organised very easily. the rooms and en suite bathrooms were large and the bed very comfortable. shower a bit temperamental but it didn't matter. The house was full of old and interesting artefacts and the main guy spoke really good English and was very helpful. breakfast seemed to be whenever we wanted it and was basically anything we wanted. Very good coffee! Our stay was overall excellent

La Rosa de Ortega is the absolute hands down, best resort in the Havana area. I call it a resort because that's the feel that it gives you. Julia and her staff are incredible. Everyone is polite. Their customer service is incredible and it's the closest thing that you will find (in the country of Cuba) to a resort style feel with all of the associated culture and experience that you'd desire coming to Havana, Cuba. 5 out of 6 visits. I have stayed here and have experienced a different room each time with the penthouse having been booked twice. If you want a little more seclusion, Ask for room number 9. It's also one of the few locations that has a pool to sit by, relax and enjoy. There's a restaurant that's open from 7am Until 11pm daily for each and every meal after breakfast; Since that's included with your stay. But let's take it one step further. A big thing that separates this location Apart from others, is the true Cuban experience afforded through a fantastic tour guide and available transportation.All booked thru La Rosa! I can never stay anywhere else other than here whenever I come. It is truly the best place in La Habana.

L’accueil, le service , la gentillesse, du petit déjeuner au dîner en passant par le déjeuner … bref tout est parfait. Sans oublier une belle maison avec chambre très bien tenue , propre agréable bien décorée. Une superbe terrasse où l’on peut prendre nos repas qui sont agrémentés certaines soirées par des concerts Julia la patronne est super accueillante et sympathique . le personnel est sur la même dynamique Nous conseillons vivement cet endroit chaleureux comme à la maison

This was such a cool place to stay! After two weeks in Varadero, we spent one night here before flying out of Havana. Upon arrival the staff was super friendly and helpful, they took all our luggage to our room while we had a complimentary welcome drink at the bar downstairs. They also arranged our taxi for the airport and our taxi for a tour of downtown Havana. The little bar and cafe on site was fantastic. Great food, great drinks, and great service. I had the chicken tacos, which were huge and super fresh tasting. My wife had the shrimp in garlic oil, came out still boiling hot and delicious. My son had a Cuban sandwich which looked amazing, and we ordered a ham and cheese sandwich for the little one to pull apart and a bread appetizer. All that plus 6 or 7 very good drinks for under $60 We had a baby and a stroller with us, which doesn't do well with all the stairs there, but anytime I needed to move the stroller, there was always someone running to help me. My only complaint is we didn't have enough time here. Would have loved to try the breakfast or take a dip in the pool. Would absolutely go back!

Our stay was nothing short of AMAZING! From the beginning to end, Julia the owner/manager was very helpful. The cab was at the airport immediately upon arrival. The front desk staff was very accommodating, the bar and restaurant staff was beyond amazing, the housekeeping staff was nice, the free massage was excellent, the free breakfast was delicious EVERYDAY! Angela, Hanoy, and Yoda, the staff, made us feel so loved! Felt like home! The ambiance was everything! The room and view was beautiful! My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay for the first time in Cuba! We made a new family there and will definitely be visiting again. I would definitely recommend 20/20!

We were welcomed by Julia, the owner right at arrival. After being escorted to our room, the receptionist Laeca welcomed us as well and gave us the Wi-Fi password. She also showed us where the pool and restaurant is and the hours it was open. The property is lovely. With plants greenery and a huge mango tree outside our window. It was wonderful to have access to a pool as well. There were a lot of barking dogs in the neighborhood but that's Cuba. There was the odd rooster crowing as well which was charming. We arrived from another location in Havana, with stomach issues.Laeca made sure we were well cared for with ginger tea and checked periodically on our well being. The restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating, serving us on the terrace and in our room when needed. Julia checked with us often and ordered bananas for us when I asked where I could get them. We couldn't have asked for better attentiveness from everyone! A taxi was ordered for us for our trip to the airport. I highly recommend a stay there for a taste of Cuban life in a comfortable, friendly accommodation.

Wir waren ein paar Tage bei Julia. Julia und ihr Team werden dich herzlich willkommen heißen. Dieser Ort ist perfekt für diejenigen, die ihre Ruhe mögen, während sie immer noch nah genug an Havanna sind. Das Zimmer war gut und sauber. Es gibt einen privaten Innenpool mit kleinem Innenpool in dem Raum, aber ehrlich; ich bin mir nicht sicher, wofür er genutzt werden soll. Es ist ein schöner Gimmick. Der Außenpool ist einladend und das Gelände ist ebenso schön und gepflegt. Das Haus ist wunderschön. Das Viertel ist ruhig und friedlich. Alles in allem würde ich ihm fünf kubanische Sterne geben, was bedeutet, dass es eine perfekte Preis-Qualitätsmischung mit freundlichem Personal ist, die dir bei allem helfen, was du brauchst. Auch wenn dies ein bisschen weit weg von der Stadt Havanna erscheinen mag, fanden wir es ein schönes „Refugio“ abseits des hektischen Treibens. Ein Taxi bringt dich in etwa 20 Minuten ins Stadtzentrum, gleichzeitig kannst du einen Tag am Pool genießen, gefolgt von einem schönen Abendessen im Restaurant. Wir kommen wieder.

Large room with safe, air con and en suite bathroom. Extremely helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Nice quiet hotel with great views of the city. Perfect for when you land in Cuba and need some time to adjust to the heat and to decompress.

La Rose de Ortega is an oasis of tranquility after the heat and pace of Havana. The reception staff Leza and Claudia are exceptional and so helpful. The hotel is beautifully furnished with artefacts from the past - plus the room, pool and restaurant are very comfortable. The food and service are very good - the best locally.
