In a massive deciduous forest with numerous hiking trails, next to a small lake or pond, away from the main road, the turnoff is easy to miss if you drive too fast. The owners, caroline and luc, have definitely spent much more than just money, it is obvious they have put their time, hearts, and minds into their project of rebuilding what remained of the homes of an old huguenot family that left for Germany when evil louis changed his mind about the future of protestants in his kingdom. The result is remarkable in its coherence and in the overall atmosphere of the property, which feels truly authentic, but with modern plumbing! What comes to mind is peaceful noisy children, not really welcome, harmonious, tasteful, tranquil, stark, or even raucous huguenot noblemen, obviously. We stayed in a spacious basement with a cozy lounge with a wood stove for when the central heating is turned off, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. There are no hanging cupboards in the kitchen, so you have to bend knees to access the food in the back of the refrigerator, located and hidden beneath the workshop. Even the ugly but useful microwave oven is hidden in a cupboard for authenticity sake, as well as some helpful and sometimes very frank advice, O. About restaurants. Top floor a very large room with

We went to this location for a wedding. The property was on a short list of accommodations that the bride planned in advance. What a beautiful experience of peace and warmth. Caroline was particularly welcoming. Even when we arrived very late to check in. For a unique and memorable experience, this cannot be matched. Book directly using caroline with a wire transfer deposit. The property is now live for easier booking.

This was a true discovery. We planned a birdwatching trip to France, particularly to the Brenner region with all it's lakes. It is just off the road in deep woodland, to which the resident dog took us one morning before breakfast and then abandoned us. By the way, this area is very sparsely populated. It does not support food after lunch. You better beware when we finally found one in Le Blanc. The farm with it's tiny chateau is old and beautifully renovated. We had a lovely big gateroom, lovely decor, a comfortable sofa, and a great bed, all very rustic and stylish. Caroline has done the restoration and her artistic gifts were evident everywhere. Breakfasts were delicious. Can't rate the room, setting, food, and service too highly. A perfect place to get away from everything, write a novel, or go birdwatching. And there is no wifi, so there are no excuses for not leaving the world for a while. The first bird we said was a black restart outside our door. tick!.

In the center of the forest in the middle of the forest an old huguenot house that was beautifully, sensitively, and tastefully transformed into rooms. Shes also a wonderful host, within ten minutes of arrival, each time she solves our problems, there is no food and the newborn needs a bath before we even know they are problems. Breakfast is also excellent. We would have liked to stay longer. She has two gifts as well as some rooms and the surrounding forest suggest adventure. Well back.
