I had a wonderful long weekend at Hotel Du Grand Camlot. The place is beautiful with the comfy rooms, cozy sofas by the fire, and a nice terrace. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and their cuisine is simply amazing. Beautiful surroundings and a wide variety of hiking and climbing routes make this place truly amazing.

It is definitely a great place to go to get up to this valley. It is home to a wealth of wildlife and world-class mountain climbing, etc. The hosts, Maria and Gabriel, were extremely friendly and down-to-earth. With their family, they reside there, and you feel like a guest in their home. On our hikes, we had breakfast and dinner at the inn, and they had their picnic lunch. Both the beverages and the food choices of the housemates were excellent. They had several house partner fruit-based liqueurs that were quite tasty. The wood paneling and plain furnishings in the room were very nice and rustic. Gabriel speaks excellent English, making communication for those who are not fluent in French never a problem. He is also an accomplished mountain guide who can assist you in deciding on a good hiking route based on your abilities or interests in the area. The entire time we were there, the atmosphere was just completely relaxed. They have four pet chickens, which are also pleasant.

Our father and I stayed here for the fourth time for me. We were greeted by the always friendly proprietors and had a comfortable and clean room. Having previously stayed here, I contacted the hotel directly to book, they often have availability when you contact them directly, even if they appear booked on online websites. The hotel is simple but tasteful and is typically filled with nature lovers and hikers. We were unable to collect any water after arriving directly from the airport on a sunday because any nearby shops were closed. They were happy to give us a bottle for our hike on Monday to Lac after a beautiful walk nearby that we strongly recommend and made a point of not charging us for it. It should be noted that this is a forestmountain area with very few stores, etc. around, so be sure to factor that into your planning. Also note that there is no mobile phone reception in the area. We anticipate coming back many more times.

Exceptional location for hiking, climbing, walking, enjoying nature, and picnicking. Excellent hosts, a serene atmosphere, a big terrace, a bar, delicious healthy food for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and picnics provided if necessary! Parking is available.

This location, situated at the foot of a walking route through the valley des marseilles, was the ideal starting point for a trip to the mercantour park. The employees and atmosphere were warm, and everyone was friendly and relaxed. Its somewhat more like a bar and a bigger refuge, with a bar and very simple private rooms that can be changed from one shared bathroom to two. Excellent location. Just the sound of rushing water from the waterfall. I thought it was a good value for money and would recommend it to any walker. Breakfast at first impression and lunchpacks are available. School parties were a little noisy, but that can happen anywhere. After setting off the fire alarm at midnight, they appeared to finally pipe down.
