We stayed here while visiting family in a nearby town and this hotel had wifi and air conditioning. What was not stated was that there was no elevator to the higher floors. We are older 60 travelers and the manager, a 40yearold male on duty, was unpleasant when I told him we wanted a lift and offered no assistance in taking our two bags upstairs or down again in the morning. We were able to drag them down. The room was very small with a double bed no space to open two bags so we went around. The bath was adequate for a twostar hotel and the bed was adequate, but nothing more. The ac was set at 16 degrees so we had to turn it off for two hours to be comfortable. Oh yeah, the hotel parking was also an extra charge. Fortunately, a public lot was close and we left by 9 a.m., so no one gave us a ticket. We did enjoy our friends great french dinner and breakfast at their home, so I cant say much about the cuisine here. If it is august and the phone valley is in a manicure heat wave, then having an ac that works well once we set the temperature correctly is important, otherwise, know what you are getting in advance! The town is charming by the phone, but this hotel is not in the center either.

We stayed in a mountain hotel and decided to take a trip and sleep somewhere before coming home. The gorge trip was wonderful and we wanted to stay at Le Clos des Olivier, which has high ratings in the Michelin guide and also in Petit Charm. The welcome was good, and the rooms were fine, if rather corridor-like. Everything was clean, but it would have been nice if the timescale marks had been removed from the toilet and the hand basin. We went to supper expecting great things. Big mistake. We chose to eat from the menu rather than eating a tape meal. Oh dear. First, we were given three different and all incorrect menu. After figuring out, we decided on a meal. My spouse chose a buffet from the tape meal, which was a good choice. Excellent salads and meats. My brother and I had fish and salad which was fine but not unusual. The second meal was a disaster. My husbands magnet de canard was so difficult to cut it. My brother and I had fish in pastry. My pastry came burned black without any explanation or apologies! We had eaten the meals, but knew we could have produced much better after the give. My husbands fine au pommes for dessert was nothing special. The pastry could hardly be cut and the apples had completely disappeared. We chose a Come du Phone for 29 euros anticipat

To be fair, the hotel didn't sleep so we stopped for lunch. The hotel had a charming dining room and lobby from the outside, and it had a welcoming dining area and lobby inside. The lodgings were obscured by us. We chose to proceed by a northbound drive and use the old national road 86 rather than the motorway. We spotted a couple of restaurants and parked in the handy free parking lot directly across the street from Burg Saint Angel. There was also an a la carte printed menu, and there was a lovely terrace with menus written on blackboards. For the main course and dessert, the cost of the menu began at only about 12 euros. The grilled salmon was excellent with inventive cooked vegetables. The flavor of the freshly cut fruit tartelette was wonderful. The other main course was a perfectly prepared piece of beef cooked with a wine sauce. Superb establishment. There is an enclosed parking lot for those staying at the hotel. A lovely surprise for an impromptu lunchtime stop. Instead of the one casserole it has been provided, the restaurant in my opinion deserves a two-ClipperLogic de France rating. From the restaurant, I believe the hotel would be just as excellent.

The rooms were very clean and tidy and in a great location to visit the gorges de laroche. Even though we did not use the bed, it was fixed quickly and efficiently. Breakfast buffet was okay but not exceptional. Everything was very fresh and the staff was friendly. We really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant on the terrace. The children's menu was excellent, not the usual steak ache frites
