Nice hotel, Floor 2 is recently refurbished so the rooms are lovely, new bathrooms carpet, paint, and beds. Our room had a nice sized balcony, but no refrigerator minibar. Water pressure is good and the heating is manually controlled and powerful enough to really heat the room. Parking is free and the hotel about a 15 minute walk from town.

We stayed one night and fortunately that was it. The inner walls are made of plaster so we could see everything happening in the other rooms, including the water plumbing. I couldn't get much sleep on the mattress because it was way too soft. We were on the 1 and 3 rd floors, however the elevator only reached the 3rd floor and we had to walk up stairs with all of our luggage. Because of the roof, the ceiling is in an attic-style slope, which meant I could only use 34 of the rooms at most. Breakfast was good but the fruits and vegetables were far from fresh. The only advantage I found was the location, which is a short walk from the old town center and has a view of the Altenburg in it's name.

Yes, we recommend it. We reserved 2 rooms, one for us and the other for our son and his wife. Due to pricing, we chose the fourth-floor rooms, and we found that the one flight of stairs from the third to the fourth floor was no problem. The room was very clean, and the view was beautiful. The sloping ceiling on this floor may be difficult for a very tall person or might be annoying if you were having an extended stay, but it did not bother us for the one night. We mainly chose this hotel because of its onsite parking, which others closer to the old town did not have. The walk to the beautiful old town and castle was very pleasant.

This is a decent family-run hotel that is a few minutes walk from Altstadt or a bus ride. It's nice and quiet and serves the best breakfast I've ever had in 30 years of traveling around Germany. Griefenkel's Brauerei is a few minutes up the hill for Bavarian beer and food.

Lovely town with a lot to see. If you get lost on the way back, this hotel is a minute's walk from the center. The building across the street was a last-minute choice for us. This is also private lodging, and the children were playing outside our window. It didn't bother us, but it was a little unusual. Im sure the main building will be fine. The room was simple but adequate for one night. The personnel was helpful and had a good breakfast. Alexandra looked after us very well. It's a good value and I will stay here again.
