The place was good, because the location was great for me. The staff serving breakfast was friendly and provided each person with a cup of tea and coffee. I appreciated how my room was cleaned and towels were changed daily. A nice and welcoming touch was to provide a free bottle of water and two little chocolates in the room. The room was a good size and had plenty of space for luggage and belongings. Bad points - lots of narrow, steep stairs - no elevator to use with luggage or if you are not physically fit and mobil, or for someone as exhausted from traveling as I was. The room was a little cold, especially the bathroom had no under-floor heating. The furniture and fittings were dated. Noise from adjacent rooms and the street. No blackout curtains. Wifi password was a closely guarded secret, and because there was no staff around in the afternoon, I had to wait until the evening to get it just by presenting it in the rooms! I suppose I have become spoiled by staying in chain hotels, so I am expecting certain things like ease of access to wifi and a certain luxury in my surroundings. And a staffed reception if I need assistance. This was not the hotel for me, but if you prefer small, personal hotels, this might be the place for you if you're not looking for luxury accommodation and enjoy climbing stairs.

The rooms have obviously been upgraded since one of the earlier comments, with the wifi instructions taped to the tes stand. But yes, carpets. It seems to be the norm in Germany, but I wish it wasnt. Plenty of outlets, good wifi signal, very nice breakfast bar, and comfy beds. The location is on the pedestrian street in the town center, minutes on foot from the located train and bus stops. Ignore the bell pushes on the side door if arriving after 2100, call the emergency number taped to the sky box to the right of the side door, and youll be given the code to open the box. A small key opens the door, another small key in the parking area, so I was told, the large key for your room. Breakfast begins at 07.00. Still no lift, so be prepared to use the stairs.

Id certainly stay here again if I return to Greifswald. The first impressions were alarming. Apple maps sent me to a locked door on a side street with a bell for reception, which went ignored initially. When I finally arrived I realized there was a entrance through the bar on the main street. This is a barrestaurant with rooms. Ive stayed in many similar places in France, but not in Germany. No lift, so a room on the top floor needs a lot of climbing with luggage, but the room itself was clean, light, and pleasant. Very affordable I wondered if they would charge me for one night rather than two! And a perfectly good breakfast.

This hotel is located on a busy street in Greifswald's old town, in a historic structure. This is a tiny hotel. The staff was ok, however you need to take into account that the receptionist doesn't start very early. I had to leave at seven in the morning and ordered breakfast at six in the morning, but inevitably I had to call the doorbell to enter the reception restaurant area and scared the breakfast chef to death. She had no idea I wanted an early breakfast, but luckily she could give me something. The room was very basic. It is a 2 star hotel that costs three euros.

I stayed at this hotel before christmas 2015. I was here on business and really needed peace. The single room that I was originally placed in faced the car park and got very noisy one night. I asked to be changed, told the owner that I really needed my sleep and was upgraded to a double room for the same price. I felt really taken care of and at home in this cozy hotel. In addition to the caring treatment I wholeheartedly recommend their bar. Great food, especially the duck, and great drinks at reasonable prices. I felt like I was back home each evening. well worth a visit!.
