In the city center, easy to go by public transportation. The room was simple but clean with a shower inside and shared toilet in the hallway. Great breakfast buffet, friendly personnel.

We had a pleasant time at the better overall. We spent three nights in the Better. The motel's location was adequate. The town center is reachable on foot or by tram. The hotel receptionist was closed when we arrived late at night, but the woman had already been waiting for us. She gave us our keys, but she spoke no English. Despite the fact that our German was quite limited, we were able to comprehend her instructions. Our double room was small but practical. Although the shower was in the room, we were located two doors down the hall and shared with two or three other rooms. After we poured showers, the room was fairly warm. The continental breakfast selection was extensive. The first morning, we checked in appropriately, and one of the ladies did speak English. They took our details, but they did not give a credit card impression, which is practically unheard of! You should be ok with a few flights of stairs because the hotel does not have an elevator. The key was the only key-mounted entryway, and it was secure. There is no bar or hour reception.

Despite being on a peaceful side street near the center of Karlsruhe, the hotel is only 300 meters from the busy city life. A large pedestrian neighborhood with many great restaurants inside and out and in the city is nearby. The following tram stop is a 10-minute or 1-minute stroll away, depending on which line you must take. The rooms are tidy and good-sized. The breakfast room is pleasant and has a large contemporary, arty chandelier. The breakfast itself is buffet-style, and offers everything I need, including a good espresso machine that is able to make a variety of coffee specialties. The receptionists are pleasant, and I felt like I was welcomed. What I found to be medium-great is that the shower and sink are right in the room without a separate bathroom, and since I like lots of natural light, I found the room to be a little dark. The value-for-money ratio is average, and I'd say it's pretty good for 10 less. Overall, the hotel was fine, and I'll definitely stay there again for my next business journeys.
