We spent time here on a family holiday because it was close to the autobahn. The personnel was pleasant and accommodating, and the reception desk is in one of the restaurant's rooms. The guest rooms were tidy and reasonably cozy, about what one would expect. We had a delicious traditional German feast at the restaurant accompanied by regional wines. The bowl of kaesewuerfel cheese balls was actually a bowl of cheese slices and wedges, and it was a lovely accommodation to a glass of wine. They were out of wildgulasch venison goulash, but the substituted schwartzbiergulash black beer goulash was tasty and delicious, if not quite as lean as the venison version would have been. Breakfast was what one would have expected, and the breakfast area was quite cozy. We had a great time.

When we traveled to Germany and prague, this was the favourite hotel among the four hotels we stayed in. It is in a commercial area rather than on the outskirts of jena, it offers a very countrystyled image with half-timbered exterior walls and historic German decor, even though it is not actually a suburb of the city. With an adequate parking lot in the back, your first impression for checking is right in the warm restaurant pub area. There is absolutely no real front desk. For all of your dining and lodging requirements, you deal essentially with the manager, restaurant server, and bartenders. Although this is not a large hotel, there are two floors of rooms, each with about 2530 rooms, so keep in mind that there are no elevators. My daughter was given a room with a closet. The apartment was a little dorm-style, but she loved it and she had her own restroom, etc. This is unquestionably not a luxury hotel, but it is fairly cheap, is clean, and it is incredibly comfy and functional. We may have had their biggest room. In general, the English language is a bit limited, but it works. It may be best to seek out other accommodations if you want to get away and relax a little, even on a business trip. Despite having some minor quirks, it is
