This hotel is not recommended for a long stay and if you don't speak German. I stayed in this hotel for two and a half weeks. The best feature of this hotel is breakfast. They provide a variety of cheese and bread. The banana kiwi marmalade is delicious. They serve good tea. However, communication was a problem as most of the staff do not speak English. The telephone in the room does not work properly. The laundromat is far from the hotel. Internet wifi signal is very weak. To get a signal, I had to sit long the hotel's steps.

Hotel is located in the middle of a residential area. My rps directed me to the top of the road, which shortly afterwards became a one-way no-entry, so I had to drive around a little to find the correct route. There is a small car park at the hotel, but it can be quite tight, I managed to park on the side, which had more space. On-street parking appears to be unrestricted. There is no designated reception desk, so when you arrive go to the bar English is spoken by some, but not all, so have your booking confirmation available! My room was spacious and sparsely furnished, with a bed, two chairs, coffee table, and wardrobe. Lack of power socket for laptop charging. No air, but the windows were completely open. Nice comfortable bed. The shower area was clean. Wifi connection was unreliable. The evening restaurant service was excellent, delicious schnitzel! There was one lady waiting and, though it was not a large restaurant, she could use a helper. Breakfast was a good standard continental buffet of cold meats and cheese, yogurt, and cereals. Good freshly scrambled eggs and coffee.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone! We visit our family in Rothenburg each year and have remained in Das Stadtidyll twice now. The rooms are spacious and clean. Although the bathroom is small, it has everything you need and is clean. The beds are comfortable, and the duvets are nice and thick. Although the duvets are a bit short for my partner, we have good nights sleep. Breakfast is absolutely wonderful. Fresh bread, yoghurt, fruit, etc. There is a great selection of cheeses, fish, and meats. They ask if you want scrambled eggs, coffee, or tea. The entire hotel is tidy and clean.

The rooms are clean, completely furnished. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast is well organized and offers a wide variety of food. For the quality offered, the price per single room is 45 euros, which is unbelievable. Negative note. The door closing is very noisy. The neighbors who live on the left side of the building are early bird and love screaming. But it is not the hotel's fault..

On our way to Frankfurt from the uk, we stayed here. We were given, I think, the best room, which was almost an apartment, but it was immaculately clean and the staff was very friendly. Not much English was spoken but we got by. Ideal for what we needed. We had to sit at the dinner table for drinks.
