A short distance from the hotel, there is a fish restaurant near Zurich. This hotel is what we selected as our home base to explore the east-fressian north sea. We asked for a room in the back, at the end of a long hallway. It was a roomy, modern, basic, clean and had a nice garden view. The bathroom was rather small, more of a tiniest. We ate our best meal at the nearby fish restaurant on the same street in Zurich.

My greatgrandmother was born here, so I made the decision to stay at this hotel primarily on price basis. Visit dates may 1921, 2013. It is absolutely wonderful. The hotel's owner and operator could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and it is lovely in that old, gracious, German manner that I can recall from decades ago. The dining rooms are so lit up with morning light that the day always begins correctly. For tea drinkers, the east frisian tea arrangement that comes with breakfast is a delight, and I paid 6 euros for the same thing in downtown one afternoon. The perfectly maintained garden in the back did not permit us to enjoy it, but anyone who travels there in warmer months should definitely try it. Also, a high rating for the dinner at the restaurant. Although the menu is limited, the portions are adequate, not the huge, wasteful meals I have had at some restaurants and cooked in an old-fashioned manner. The only drawback is that zurich, about ten minutes away, lacks an elevator for visitors staying on the second floor between Germans and Germans.
