We chose this location because our family of four wanted to experience a unique castle overnight while traveling in Europe over spring break. It was initially challenging to book due to a language issue and the lack of an online reservation process, but we eventually resolved it, and the overall experience there was fantastic! After checking in, we were given a tour of the castle by the proprietor, and he even personally translated the menu for us at dinner, which was an incredible experience in and of itself! As we were there on a Thursday night, the rooms were largely empty and informed that it is most used by companies or for conferences and is typically busier on weekends. Breakfast choices were plentiful and filling for just 8 euros per person, and the beds were clean and cozy. When we needed to enter town, taxi service was swift, and the closest railway stop is only a short walk away. Overall, we strongly suggest this if you're looking for a unique castle experience at affordable costs.

We frequently ventured here to locate a safe and peaceful destination, and we discovered the owner to be eccentric and really cool. He welcomed our taxi, checked us in, showed us around our room, which was an entire tower part, welcomed us for dinner, was there for breakfast, and also checked us out the first time. We repeated our visits and treated this as our own private castle. The nearby hills and woods are pleasant to stroll through and are incredibly private. We were surprised to discover that the only other patron there at the beginning hour was an American living just 5 miles away at home, who lived just 5 miles away. After that, europeans eventually filled the eatery at a more respectable 9 a.m. dinner hour. From here, you can visit born, the university of born, walk along the shine, and tour other castles.

This hotel was converted as part of our journey down the river. The service was amazing. The hotel is older but clean. If you want to experience the most modern castle, this is not it. If you are searching for something that is family owned, older but clean, and off the usual routine, you will find it. I've never heard the sounds someone else mentioned. And as others have said, since the main castle is only used for conferences upon arrival, it will look closed. Follow the reception signs, pass the gates, and drive through. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall a wonderful experience.
