We walked 20 minutes to the Obersalzbergbahn cable car when visiting Obersalzburg, and I parked at the top station. It took 40 minutes to stroll to the main region from here. We had a wonderful time at the hotel, and we would most definitely return! A wonderful visit at the Krone Hotel! I adore how the hotel maintains an oldfashioned chalet feeling, from the simple folksy artwork in the hallway to the knotty pine in the room to the individual room keys and, I mean, actual skeletonstyle keys, there arent many of those in the area if you like it. A buffet breakfast buffet was fantastic. From our room, the river could be seen, and the kehlsteinhaus had a lovely view. The apartment was tidy, cozy, and peaceful. The bathroom is small, yet wellthoughout and comes with everything you need, including shelves. As a man and woman pair, we never felt uncomfortable or out of place. When heading into town for dinner, youll need to cross town. This takes about 15 minutes uphill on the return road, on the way back down locksteinstrae, where youll see a fantastic view as you stroll towards town. You wont probably need a car in Berchtesgaden unless you have mobility issues or cannot walk uphill. We took the same 840 bus back

This is our third stay at the Krone Hotel in 8 years and it was great as always. The location continues to provide views and atmosphere, and our hosts, the wonderful families in the grave are as welcoming and helpful as usual. If you want a great family run hotel this is it.

This place was introduced to us by chance, and we are very grateful for that! Planned to stay for 1 night but didn't want to leave after 2! Location close to the eagles nest, 20 minutes from Saulzberg, stunning vistas of the mountains! very nice staff

Over the past 25 years, we have stayed at Krone many times. It only gets better. The only thing I regret is that there are no sheep and goats living under the hotel anymore! We always had the best service and felt very welcome.

We will be back, and it comes highly recommended. Our stay was very impressive. We were able to check in early and made a quick trip to the eagles nest. Dinner was a pleasant choice for us. Our room was very clean, and the balcony had great views of the surrounding area, including the eagle nest. We stayed a second night because there were numerous attractions close by. Breakfast both mornings was excellent, with hot and cold options. The owners went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable, even reserving a car space close to the hotel.
