After a long day of hiking on the King Ludwig Trail, we finally landed here. The hotel was warm, and the room was tidy and roomy. The surroundings were spectacular. We read and enjoyed the beer garden for a while before ordering a wonderful meal. Even though there was a lot of party that evening, the staff was also very friendly and attentive. The only drawback was that, owing to the large party, we were advised that we would have to eat dinner by 7 pm, but other guests landed after 7 and were allowed to remain. We would have liked to eat a little later, but it turned out to be fine.

The location is a bit confusing as it says landhotel, gasthof zur post, and gasthof kirchberger hotel. Not sure why. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. Our room overlooked the church. We had dinner in the lovely beer garden. We typically eat vegetarian food and had a great meal. The rest of the group also enjoyed their meals. The rooms might be a bit better. One of our party said his bathroom was not very clean. The towels were also really exfoliating. They were so rough you had to laugh. However, otherwise, we had a good night's sleep.

I can recommend this hotel. We only stayed one night, but found this hotel very pleasant. The beer garden is small and hidden at the back of the hotel but has a comfortable feel and the service is good. The food is well cooked and looks like popular with the locals too.

The location is excellent, so it makes us feel very welcome. The owner's cares about our stay was also well-appreciated, they even have a very good food, which they served in their small homey restaurant. The family room is an excellent choice for us because it fits with our needs very well and offers a great view of the snowy mountains.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Neuschwanstein Castle about 20 minutes away. We were 2 families. One had a family room with double bed and bunk beds in an adjacent room. The other had a very spacious apartment overlooking the beer garden with 3 bedrooms. This place has been in the same family for 5 generations and the hosts were very friendly. The restaurant was closed on Tuesday but we ate there on wed and the food was great. Breakfast was also good, warm rolls, cheese, ham, eggs, muesli, etc. To cool down I strongly recommend swimming in the nearby lake bad bayersoien, which has excellent facilities. In the future I would deliberately construct an itinerary to include this lovely place.
