Ahornhof is located in Lower Bavaria in the mountain valley, a 3-hour drive from Munich Airport. There are no shops, restaurants nearby, and no transportation to find there. But I adored the panoramic view of the snowy mountains from the bedroom. The beauty of the location is that, once you exit the hotel and take some steps, you are in the forest! When I was there in January, the temperature outside was between 15 and 20 degrees. But the heating in the room and bathroom was excellent, and the temperature was maintained throughout the hotel to a very comfortable temperature. The room size was average, but the cleanliness was excellent. The mattress was on the soft side, and the quilt was fantastic. Eggs, meat, and mussels were the only items served at the restaurant. WiFi was not so good inside the room, but outside. One drawback is that there isn't a lift. As a result, managing your big luggage is up to you!.

The ride was great. We stayed at the ahornhof on a coach journey with the crusader holidays and had a great week. The driver was fantastic, there are so many things to do and see in Bavaria. All rooms were warm and welcoming, beds comfortable. The food was supper and enjoyable in Bavaria. And so was the beer! It's a long journey but well worth it we felt safe throughout the journey, even in the snow. Oh, one drawback, the fire alarm went off once, people smoking in their rooms, the English went down to reception but no one else noticed! If you aren't on a coach, youll need a car.

Overall not a bad hotel to stay in. The hotel is in a quiet area of the city, if you want to go anywhere, you need transportation. The rooms are comfortable, however if you want extra pillows, the refrigerator in the room has a swimming pool inside and out, two bars, lots of lounges, and facilities for children found breakfast very good but not very much choice for dinner

The quality of the accommodation was excellent and I would highly recommend it. The hotel is located on the edge of the village and provides excellent scenic walks right outside the door. The building itself is well built, laid out and easily accessible for all visitors with all facilities including elevators and stairs. The bedrooms are useful, comfortable, and clean with en suite showers. Facilities of a high caliber, maintained every day, no tea maker, but refrigerators are provided, and there are 2 swimming pools one outdoorauna, a beauty salon, a large, wellkept outdoor space with childrens facilities, plenty of sun loungers, and terrace tables. The food and dining facilities were excellent with nice courteous, courteous, and efficient personnel with one exception, and it was selfservice with a reasonable level of choice at breakfast dinner it was of a good standard and plentiful, most guests made packed lunches openly and foil was provided. There were two bars, one serving a restaurant terrace area and one bigger bar with various lounges in the middle, which could become quite busy. The costs were reflected, what you paid in german cities cheaper than France Italy etc. The organized entertainment was restricted to one night with a Bavarian dance band overall, a lovely hotel value for money.
