Everyone was so nice here!! I was lucky enough to have my room on the roof, so when I walked out of my room the Acropolis was in the distance! It was sooooo beautiful and I am so grateful. The cleaning lady was also so sweet and made my bed so nicely for me. The breakfast is good as well! There’s hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, bread, sweet bread, fruit, orange juice, jam, etc. Those might change a bit seasonally though I don’t know. It is a good location too but keep in mind it’s a busy area for if you get overstimulated. I loved my stay! Two notes for people who are a bit picky: my TV I couldn’t figure out how to turn on English closed captioning (if you can) so I wasn’t really able to watch the TV because every channel was in Greek as far as I could tell. But again I was in Greece… so I’m not complaining! I could have asked and I’m sure they would have helped me but it wasn’t a big deal for me! My other note is that the shower pressure isn’t that strong, but again I don’t really mind. These are such small things and they didn’t really matter to me but they are just things to be aware of. Overall my stay was great and I’m very pleased with the hotel. Thank you Hotel Cecil staff!!

el hotel tiene un estilo clásico, que a mí me encantó. Está bien situado, muy centrico. Las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas y bien climatizadas. El personal es de los más atentos que me he encontrado en mis diversos viajes.

Fresh night here, staff are welcoming, room is clean, hot water, air, conditioner, hairdryer, safe. Area seems safe to walk, swimming pool and breakfast included.

Hôtel bien situé dans Athènes. Proche du métro. Les sites agora, acropole etc sont à moins de 30 moins à pied. Parfait pour visiter la ville

Innsjekk gikk raskt og betjeningen var hjelpsomme og hyggelige. Rommet hadde enkel standard og ganske hard madrass, men oppsiden var bra aircondition og god lydisolasjon mot gaten utenfor. Frokosten var veldig enkel! Beliggenheten er det som virkelig trekker opp og som gjør at vi gjerne anbefaler Cecil Hotel.

We had a lovely stay here. The breakfast was a great way to start the day. The hotel is centrally located so we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do. It was clean. The bathroom was small, but I think that is typical.

We stayed at Cecil Hotel for one night. The room was very clean and comfortable, even a little more roomy than European standards. We only interracted with one front desk person and one cleaning technician during our stay. Both were lovely, and initiated conversation. The location really can't be beat. A quick walk to all of the areas that visitors tend to go. From our window we could see right down the main street to the Monastiraki Square with the Acropolis looking over it. I don't know that I would stay here for a stay of more than a few days. There is a refrigerator on each floor to be shared by everyone staying on that floor. Wouldn't have wanted to keep medication or anything large in it. But, not a deal breaker for our needs.

albergo molto centrale (logistica ottima!), piccolo e per certe cose un po' "vecchiotto", ma molto in tema con Atene, personale gentile, sorridente e sempre a disposizione, colazione non molto variegata, ma lo yogurt col miele è davvero favoloso (e anche le marmellate greche sono buonissime)!

Very good value. Central location, spotlessly clean , comfortable bed and nice staff, breakfast of bread cheese ham and fruit ( I didn’t expect breakfast included for the price) but there is also a cafe next door if want extra. It’s two minutes to monastiraki square too

I have stayed quite a few times and I always come back when I visit Athens. Perfect location for the Monastiraki metro station and the flea market which are only a 5 minute walk. Plenty of shops and restaurants (coffee, souvenir, pastry shops, bakeries, juice bars etc), very close proximity to Akropolis. The hotel itself it's not very modern or new but it's very decent and clean. In fact I prefer it to some modern, sterile, impersonal hotels I've stayed. Cecil has a character!! The rooms are not very big but they're very clean with comfortable beds, air con, TV and a fridge in the common area outside the rooms. Complementary shower gel and soap in the shower. As always a very pleasant staying!
