Amazing Stay at Hydrea Hotel Hydrea Hotel is a stunning, high-end property right on the port of Hydra. The view from the terrace is incredible, overlooking the harbor and town. The location is unbeatable—you’re just steps from all the restaurants and shops. The architecture is beautiful, the place is spotless, and the atmosphere is both luxurious and welcoming. The hostess and staff were wonderful, attentive, and professional. Everything about this place was perfect. Highly recommended! Eveperfect. Highly recommended!

The manager on site (Mike) was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the corner suite with the balcony overlooking the port, and almost wanted to stay out their the entire time, but were very glad we ventured out and took Mike's recommendations for dinner and daily walks. Amazing location, very comfortable, and did I mention the balcony? Feels like we know one of the best rooms in all of Greece. The whole hotel has a unique beauty and charm, and the smell of fresh-baking bread in the mornings... I miss it already.

A beautiful hotel in an excellent location. This is a restored mansion from the 1800s. The staff was very gracious and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Located right on the port but to one side away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. Our room was spacious and with a harbour view. Breakfast is served on a terrace overlooking the water and staff are extremely attentive.

The hotel is a beautiful old home. The manager Thanos is amazing. He is so welcoming and helpful with any requests. The breakfast is cooked to order and delicious. The staff can’t be beat. The location is also a perfect launch point for anything you want to do in the old town area.

Just an amazing stay! Beautiful common areas and rooms. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was the best ever and enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the water. Couldn't improve on one thing.....everything was perfect.

Superdeluxe

This is a lovingly restored powerful merchant’s house from 1803 overlooking the port and the main town. They’ve done it in a style that is at once grand and contemporary shabby chic. Great details, elegant, but comfortable. They only have eight rooms, so it felt like my own decadent Hydra home. The great vibe is reinforced by the staff, not least by the manager, Thanos, who radiates charm and conviviality. Breakfast is a delightful, authentic experience. You feel every minute that you are in Greece, and in a world of sameness and international standard fare, this is really welcome.

We flew the flying cat from pirates to hydra after a weekend in Athens. We arrived at the hydra after a brief stroll around the harbor, where we've enjoyed the past five days wonderfully. Although the terrace has a breathtaking panorama of the town, our private terrace has been a fantastic platform to observe the events in the busy city. Just far enough away from the commotion to be completely away from the bustle, yet close enough to be conveniently anywhere you want to be in a matter of minutes. The building is lovely, beautifully decorated in a lovely color scheme throughout. Just like the location, the service is calm but effective. Breakfasts, which can be ordered in advance but are served anytime between 8 and 30 11.30, are delicious. No, there isn't a pool, there aren't many amenities, and the reception isn't available 24 hours, but who cares? This is a place to rest and unwind. Be aware that access from street level involves about 35 fairly steep stone steps, and there is stone flooring in public areas. A stair lift is available.

This is the place to stay if you want to travel abroad. The place has beautiful restored interiors and the place is close to the port. The breakfast was delicious, which was prepared by two female cooks. We also got an amazing terrace for breakfast, but we really need more umbrellas.

The hotel's style and management, as well as its proximity to paradise, made my wife and I always welcome it. Adrian is very helpful when it comes to everything from the rebooting and back-and-forth to booking couid tests. And then, the view here is really stunning. After that, the hydra port is pretty amazing, and we arrived after sunset to be assisted with our luggage to the hotel. Then, there's the great balcony by which we will have breakfast everyday and watch the world below. This place had a really beautiful beachfront, so this place was so lovely. The staff come to find you, and you simply make yourself comfortable.

This place is lovely and small. The room was spotless and tastefully designed. The employees were also pleasant and accommodating. There were some difficulties when we arrived, but the personnel was quite attentive and patient.

I stayed in the room with the balcony and the view was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. The place was very ideal for our honeymoon. I will definitely return.

A nice hotel in a perfect location but lacking attention to detail and badly needing investment. For a 4 star ‘Exclusive’ ‘luxury’ ‘boutique’ hotel all sorts of things need attending to: 2 umbrellas on the terrace for the whole hotel - come to breakfast late and you need to sit in blazing sun. No tea making, bin, mirror in room. Tiny wardrobe with a handful of hangers. No place to put bags. Certainly ‘luxury’ extras perhaps expected for €350 or more a night were not present. Maintenance poor - shower / bath tap jammed and despite maintenance visit never worked thecwhole stay plug not working, bulbs not working, light falling off wall. Furnishings strange, not taking reference to the beautiful historic building, and rather dated. Ancient tiny TV. Clear that investment has been totally absent for years. Staff helpful and enthusiastic but rather hit and miss in efficiency. Maximum of only one staff member seemingly present outside breakfast and no hint of any sort if exclusive or luxury hospitality. For pretty much the most expensive hotel in town a real disappointment. A recent stay in the Leto was equally good and a third of the price. Ridiculous cost left a bitter taste and unfulfilled expectations after an otherwise lovely stay on the island. Very mediocre.
