The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is 20 minutes walk from the Harpa concert hall and much closer to the main shops. The FossHotel is well located. (On a map it's close to the Hofdi) It's a huge hotel and very busy at breakfast as several groups/tours will be getting ready to get out at the same time. Bus stop 12 for tour pickup is right outside (a good thing) but several tour buses turn up around 9.15 and chaos ensues! This is not the fault of FossHotel and if you're relaxed about it it's quite entertaining. We would happily stay there again.

I stayed here twice on our Iceland trip. The first night and the last night. We were a family of six adults, so three rooms. The rooms are clean. The beds are very comfy. The tile floors are heated! I'm sure this would be quite a luxury in the winter. Still felt nice. My only negative about the rooms are they are quite hot despite setting the thermostat down. Had to leave the window open at night to sleep better. Booked through Expedia so I did receive a complimentary drink. Enjoyed the beer garden and any of the beers were included in the complimentary ticket. There are a lot of sitting places in the beer garden, although one night it was very busy and every table and seat was taken. Breakfast was great as are the breakfasts in most of the Icelandic hotels. You have to park on one of the streets near the hotel. Initially I parked in the underground garage but they charged by the hour and I think I would have paid around $50 US overnight. Whereas outside it was free from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.

Perfect place from which to day-trip. Breakfast options were numerous. P4 parking areas (no fee from 4pm - 8am) within a few blocks. Staff were very accommodative. Lamg shank offered by hotel restaurant was outstanding.

Great location, clean, quiet room and very comfortable bed. Most important for us was that there was a parking lot that we could use for our rental car. Very easy walk to the harbor, restaurants and stores.

A wonderful stay at a top notch location. We celebrated our 25th anniversary and staff provided us a beautiful tray of desserts. The location is near shopping, harbor and quiet area with many restaurants nearby. Suggest taking local bus to flybus when coming from KEF airport. But, very walkable to all other highlights

Very clean. Staff are very helpful especially on helping booking local trips. Bus stop is at the door, very convenient for taking tours, going to airport etc. Hotel is within walking distance to town center and business streets and tourist attractions. Excellent value.

Schönes, sauberes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Unser Ausblick vom Zimmer auf Meer und Stadt aus dem 12. Stock war wunderbar. Das Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Bei Abreise um 4 Uhr morgens gab es noch ein Frühstücks-Sackerl zum Mitnehmen. Kleiner Nachteil: das Hotel hat keine eigenen Parkplätze. Parken in nahe gelegenen (relativ günstigen) gebührenpflichtigen Parkzonen.
