A good hotel located near the port of Reykjavik. Very easy to get there by taxi for about $40.00.

I would have given a higher rating to the staff but it only goes to five stars. Every single request was met with a yes and some yeses were offered before an actual ask! They were helpful, courteous and professional. I highly recommend staying here when in Reykjavik.

We can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel is. Not in the center of town, but set near the harbor, with a short walk to some fantastic harbor restaurants. The staff was so helpful and warm. The highlights were: 1) A great mini spa on site, with wonderful baths, resting area and great massages available. 2) A hip cafe with great coffee and baked goods and 3) an excellent restaurant/bar.

We stayed in the Grandi for 6 days. It was great! Loved the spa amenities and the buffet breakfast. It was in a perfect location. Staff gave us great recommendations for restaurants. We loved Iceland. The downside was the gym! Very small with few pieces of equipment. My husband and I could not work out at the same time.

You will pay dearly for dining out in Rekyavik, so keeping that in mind, avoid the tourist trap restaurants and consider Grandi hotel / bar especially for lunch dinner... The breakfast bar offers many options and is always being replenished. However, the emphasis of our review is that the bar / restaurant is an excellent choice for dining out. The quality and presentation of the food options are consistently excellent. We initially tried some other restaurants of good reputation, and except for one meal, all were of excellent quality and service was friendly. That being said, we chose to eat most of our meals at the Grandi bar restaurant. At Grandi, the bar / restaurant service is exceptional. The menu is not huge, but there is definitely thought put into trying to offer something that will appeal to a range of tastes. In our opinon, the food and service far surpassed the other restaurants outside of the hotel and in the main tourist areas, especially considering the price point for dining out in Rekyavik. In particular, try the seafood soup, cauliflower wings, rack of lamb and ribeye steak. OUTSTANDING!!!!!

Free delicious breakfast with all sorts of options: eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, beans, breads, danishes/donuts, fruit, pickled vegetables, etc. The spa was delectable. Definitely get the upgrade. Beds were springy, but comfortable. Orange hotel cat was a bonus. What a cutie!

Our stay at Hotel Grandi was amazing! The staff were so kind. We were there for a birthday celebration and they made me feel at home! They treated me to some sweets and a beautifully written card. It was a very easy check in even thought it was busy. The hotel itself was clean! When the people came to clean they changed the sheets, changed the towels and did a thorough clean of the washroom! It was great service. The only thing we didn’t have was a microwave in the room, it only has a mini fridge. There were blackout curtains which was much appreciated with all the daylight! The spa was also an amazing amenity. It was so quiet and relaxing. Such a great add on in a hotel. I would absolutely return to this hotel! They also have coupon books at the front which really helped with certain costs of things!

Som vanleg var dette eit fint opphald. Eit opphald i spaet gir ein fin start på dagen før ein god frukost.
