This is a great place to stay on your way to the Sneafellsnes peninsula or maybe even a place to stay and start the excursions to the named peninsula. And then, the place is neat and quiet, after that, the lady who owns the two cottages was really nice. Besides that, you have to pay in cash.

If I remember correctly, we remained at Mar House for 5 nights. The house had four rooms, including a hall, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. During our stay, about three couples stopped by and stayed only one night. Probably as a stop on their journey around the ring road. Sharing the common area with strangers was a bit difficult, but we managed. Extroverts would have a great time, but we are both introverts. So, just one thing to keep in mind when you reserve. Im not claiming it is a negative. The owners of the second property attached to the guest house hardly came across them. They greeted us and grind when we did spot them. The lady was pleasant even when we spoke. We only spoke to her once. We had a little bit about our vacation, their chickens they keep chickens outside, and their dog. Her English was excellent, so we had no issues. The guesthouse is immaculate. The kitchen is small but has everything you need for a simple meal. There is a large fridge in each room with a shelf assigned. There is a brew kettle, pots and pans, cutlery, mugs, and plates. We found cooking oil and lots of salt in the cabinets sorry, I'm not sure what the English name is. Everything is extremely

The prices are excellent and the location is only a few minutes' drive from Reykjavik. Good guesthouse and a short drive to downtown Cranes, where you can have a great supper. Ask the host for the restaurant's recommendations. It's directly on the mountain, so the view is spectacular. We reserved a double room and the owner was kind enough to upgrade us to a completely separate summer home. Full toilet, bathroom, and kitchen facilities in the summer house. Excellent condition and cleanliness.

We stayed in a cabin like the one pictured. I have a great view of the mountain and water. The accommodation was spotless and bright. You must make a bed and clean the cabin before you leave, but I didn't find this to be a problem as I knew that when I made a reservation.
