The dorms are set up like most hostels except that there are about 20 beds in the dorm and the shared bathroom is connected to the dorm with I think about 7 each of shower and toilet cubicles. The beds are custom made bunk beds and very strong, so you should not really notice your bunkmates. Each bunk is equipped with two electrical outlets, a private light, and privacy curtains. The mattress and pillows were clean and comfortable. The dorm has some small tables and chairs where people can sit and eat, but it is not really a social area. The reception also has two couches, which is again too small to use for social purposes. Here, the wifi throughout the hotel is excellent and fast enough for most purposes. Location wise, it is pretty much in the old city of ahmedabad, and all the attractions are nearby or within walking distance. There are also many restaurants close by as well as local markets, but the latter is more aimed at locals. Overall I had a good stay and would consider charyana again the next time I visit Ahmedabad.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay, and the next time I was in Ahmedabad, Id think charyana. I spent four nights in one of the dormitories here in December. The dormitories are similar to many hostels except that there are around 20 beds in the dormitory, and the shared bathroom has about 7 shower and toilet cubicles, each of which is connected to the dormitory. The beds are custom made bunk beds that are very sturdy, so you shouldn't notice your bunk buddies. Each bunk has two electrical outlets, a private light, and privacy curtains. There is also a thin blanket that is not necessary when the ac is off and too thin when it is on. The mattress and cushions were clean and cozy. The dormitory has a few small tables and chairs where people can sit and eat, but it's not really a social space. There are also two couches at the reception, which again are probably too small to use for social events. This hotel's wifi, which was useful and fast enough for most purposes, is everywhere in the hotel. It's primarily in the old city of ahmedabad, with all the attractions nearby or within walking distance. There are numerous eateries nearby, as well as several local markets, though the latter is more for locals.
