Literally only a one minute walk from Golden Temple, this hotel was quiet with excellent western and indian food at breakfast and room service, really comfortable beds, clean and very friendly helpful reception. Good view from rooftop restaurant and easy to get tuk tuk transport from there to go around town.

First of all you have to realize that this rating is for a hotel in India. Things are different there, unless you're staying at a world brand chain. The rooms are basic and at the time the hotel was renovating. However, i've stayed here before and the staff is impeccable. If you want to get somewhere they can get you a driver and you will get there. You don't have to worry about getting ripped off. This hotel is great for those wanting to see the Golden Temple and walk around Amritsar. It's literally steps away from the entrance. It's really a hotel for pilgrims whose main objective is spending time at The Golden Temple. OH, the breakfast is phenomenal. 175 IN Rupee which is about $2.75 USD-- amazing Indian food buffet. Cannot be beat. The price of the rooms are fantastic too.

I have stayed here twice and my experience has been great. In fact, on my recent visit, I got lost and didn't know how to bring my car to the hotel, and the hotel manager sent someone to pick me up. The biggest issue with bringing your car here is that it's not easy, rps doesn't work that well, it could lead you to narrow lanes where you might get stuck, better to talk to the hotel guys and they will guide you. The food selection is average, but the taste is good and the value for the money. I must say this is the best hotel if you want to stay near the golden temple, it's right opposite the golden temple, I don't even call it walking distance, it's like you've stepped out of the golden temple and enter the room that's the shared parking lot of the hotels. The rooms are clean and tidy, don't expect any luxury here, these are simple hotels, but they provide all you need for a short 23-night stay. I've stayed here twice and my experience has been great. In fact, on my recent visit I lost and didn't know how to bring my car to the hotel, and the hotel manager sent someone to pick me up, that was a great gesture. In September 2019, I took my south-indian neighbors to Le Golden. The purpose of this visit was to demonstrate the golden temple and other amritsar attractions to them. We reserved deluxe accommodations and spent three nights. Since my most recent visit in December 2018, the entire motel has been renovated, and the staff is friendly. The toilets and room service are spotless. But I'm not positive that the rooms are very large. They're just ideal for two people, though. Most amenities, including toilet kits, new towels, tea bags, and a hot kettle, are provided in the room. The food is excellent, but if you want to taste the real thing, you must visit the street food counters to do so. Breakfast is a part of most of the hotel's packages, and it's extremely tasty because it's reasonably priced and immaculate. both safe for travelers and the consumer.

The food was below average. They didn't help us as the staff is not very helpful. We are trying to reach this hotel because the location is in front of Golden Temple. Moreover, the location of the hotel is difficult because the local police don't allow vehicles and cars on most roads. So if you intend to reach here by car, I advise you to choose a hotel in an out of the way. There are many reasons this hotel is not worth it. The rooms were dirty and dirty. The washroom was also dirty and dusty. The bed sheets were dirty and used before.

Good hotel just in front of the gate of the Golden Temple. Only ptoblem is the car can reach easily to hotel and you need to walk for 1 km to reach hotel. Or you can opt battery vehicles to reach hotel.

Very close to the Golden Temple. There are no rooms with Twin Beds. They provided us with an Extra bed. Please make sure next time Reservations.

This is our 2nd stay in this hotel. We selected this hotel as it’s conveniently located. Within 1 min walk to the golden temple - Akal Takath Hotel staff were accommodating and alert to our requests especially since I had elderly parents with me.

Only 50 yards from one of the temple gates. Clean and pleasant building. Good self service buffet breakfast in the restaurant on the (enclosed) roof giving a good view of the temple. The food in the restaurant (evening only) was very good but absolutely no atmosphere, we were the only ones there for 3 consecutive nights, someone turned the lights on when we got out of the lift doors. I can only assume that everyone else were having room service!

The location was perfect for the Golden Temple and exploring the Old City. Be mindful that the hotel is right next to the Golden Temple and taxis can not get to it. Pre arrange with the hotel an airport pick up. The staff are some what friendly. Breakfast was good and had a view of the Golden Temple. We even had dinner from the restaurant on our first night and it was very tasty. The room was cold ( stayed early Jan), with not option of heating, however we did get another blanket.

Hotel was right next to Golden Temple , the reason for my visit to Amritsar and was a good overnight stay, Room clean and functional, reception and staff friendly and helpfull, taxi service from airport prompt and well priced .. A good Budget stay if your main reason for a visit is The Golden Temple as its on the doorstep .!! The chai wala in between hotel and Golden Temple was an awesome place to rest and enjoy a great glass of chai (the best i had in India) and a great chat with the locals !!!
