This is not a place for outsiders. All of the other guests in the (tiny) bunks were poor Indian men on their way to be, say, a guest laborer somewhere (one man showed me his visa to Ghana). Anyway, it was awkward AF, so I powered through a couple nights and then moved next-door to the Afra hostel — still pretty much a local place, but MUCH better, and I even made some new good friends there. Actual showers, a few western toilets, a men's wing, a woman's wing, and a mixed dorm, no hangout space, but at least the bunks have really good curtains, and an electrical outlet and a light. Next-door at Shahana you're just in the dark if the room is in the dark, and you might be made to feel out-of-place.

Came just for a night's sleep. Not sure I would recommend this hostel, but the price is very cheap.

Very cheap stay, but the staff lacks basic social skills (rude and unpleasant)

I'd still say it is excellent value. Wasn't a very clean room.

There was no room, when I arived I was told there were over booked. I then had to go search another hotel. At such late notice it was both very stress full and very expensive

There was no room left at the hotel. They simply refused to provide a stay. They did not even consider a refund and asked me to apply for a refund from Hotels.com. They, however, looked for a hotel nearby at a slightly higher price. I had to pay from my own pocket. I now request a refund and also to sanction the hotel for their unprofessional behaviour.

Having travelled in India for 4 weeks of stayed in a lot of places. However, none came even close to how disgusting this place was. I decided to stay in the dorm as it was close to the airport. People were up until 12 watching TV loudly in the room, and at 1am one of the staff decided to switch the lights on and start cleaning the room and wondering about. But that wasn't the worst of it, there were bugs in this place that were on another level. Mosquitos, other bugs in the beds, and thousands of bugs all over the walls in the bathroom. I'd avoid this place at all costs. At 2am it was so bad I got up and left. Be warned!

We stay in hostels, camp and all kinds of things, and this was on our top 3 worst places in 26 years of travel. The stench alone was horrendous. Booked room not ready for 5 hours after arrival, not cleaned when given to us. All aspects of the facility were FILTHY. Incredibly noisy. The front room they tried to give us first did not even have real walls, just kind of a temporary divider.
