A great heritage place to stay for a few days of exploring Alleppy, beaches and the backwaters, located across a local road by the massive beach. Hotel is a lovely well maintained old traditional building with a swimming pool and restaurant. Paid a bit more for a large traditional room with a large shared lounge and outside seating area next to the pool. Great restaurant and chef with a good menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner also serving alcohol. Guys in the restaurant very helpful and made us feel welcome - a big thankyou to Lee and his colleagues for looking after us so well. Google maps does not realise that highway 66 is on two elevated sections of flyover, so you cannot access the property from the flyover by the beach - you have to navigate through the adjoining Cullen or Palace roads to the beach and hotel under the flyovers.

Great property - lovely rooms and the property was beautiful. Great location next to the beach, but the moment you step off the property it is a bit scruffy. The room we had was nice, good food offerings and beer - all at a good price. Pool area was ok.

Excellent séjour.Très bel hôtel de charme avec du personnel très gentil, souriant et aux petits soins. Les chambres étaient grandes, belles et confortables. Il y a un très beau salon commun .La restauration y est bonne. En front de mer. L'hôtel n'y est pour rien mais Il y a une voie rapide en construction en hauteur juste entre l'hôtel et le front de mer qui peut générer du bruit ponctuellement. Mais nous avions 3 chambres sur l'intérieur du bâtiment où cela ne posait pas de problème

I was a little sceptical at first. Room was amazing. Old, old and even older. Staff were lovely. Lovely restaurant and great breakfast. By the beach🌝 local to most things. Beer available at all times + finest gin and tonics. They’ve built an elevated highway right in front of the hotel- but it doesn’t actually spoil the view of the beach. Breakfast was superb. Great stay, thank you

Rigtig dejligt og hyggeligt hotel med tilhørende gode restauranter. Man bader ikke i havet selvom det er tæt på, men hotellets pool er god og ren. Personalet er gode til engelsk og meget hjælpsomme.

The hotel is an amazing gem. Heritage property and like going back a century to a quieter time. Yet the food was great and the stay itself too. But the hotel is a street away from the beach. And the government seems to be slowly building a bridge or highway. So those sounds are not ideal nor is the heavy machinery and blocked roads at times.

Superbe séjour dans cet hôtel de charme. Restaurant très agréable sur front de mer. Une voie rapide est en travaux juste au devant de l’hôtel qui devra changer la donne d'ici peu de temps.

We had a nice time at Raheem Residency. The room was clean and beautifully decorated, and the small, intimate nature of the hotel created a calm atmosphere that we appreciated. The restaurant was also fantastic; some of the best meals we had in India.

Really enjoyed two nights spent here in March. Had a beautiful room at the front of the house and indulged ourselves with yoga classes and massages each day. A beautifully restored property right on the beach. Would definitely go back again!

We stayed at Raheem Residence for 4 nights at the end of the monsoon season start of Sept 2013 which kept us a little hotel bound due to the rain. Thankfully we had plenty to keep us occupied, we availed of their great value ayurvedic treatments, used their varied library during the rained off periods and the pool during the hot weather. The food in their restaurant was incredible and at each meal we ordered a selection of main courses which gave ample opportunity to taste many of the famous Kerala dishes explained in detail by the very helpful restaurant staff. The service at the hotel was excellent and Bibi and her team made us feel at home and very welcome during our stay, we will definitely be back.

The hotel and restaurant Chakara holds a very high standard regarding localities and service. Small intimate very orderly clean and competent clever help from woman management. Nice pool and excellent oldfashioned service from waiters in poolarea. A bit noicy trafific during daytime with road nearby as well as railroad in about 200 m distance but in night you will not be disturbed. No refrigerator in room and a slow internet. In short a very nice old manison with best sort of female management. The town is a good gate to backwaters.
