Service, location, friendly accommodating staff made us feel like home. Kanchanjungha views from hotel view point.. outside some rooms, dining hall, outside reception.. everywhere. Gave some suggestions and feed back to the general manager who was very appreciative of the constructive feed back. Passion of the staff to serve customers is unparalleled and trickles down from the leadership of Debarya, who seems to talk about the resort like it's his baby. Doma in dining room, authentic Nepalese cells roti made fresh was cherry on top. Will be back.

A wonderful place to stay, this place is at the highest point in Darjeeling, it has a stunning view of Kanchenjunga, is very well-maintained, and served excellent food. The hotel's activities are suitable for a holiday, and the weather is better than the city of Darjeeling here.

The best part is that Sterling Resorts is in a great location with views of Kanchenjunga peak. The friendly and kind staff and prompt service add to the refreshing experience at the hotel. The food is also tasty and is prepared to your specifications.

Last week, I stayed at this property for 5 days. The approach road as it is in Darjeeling is very narrow, and the interior is quite tranquil. However, when you arrive at the sterling property, it is very spacious and well-kept. The rooms are clean and well-kept. The resort staff is very polite, courteous, and helpful. The quality and spread of the food is really good and well-presented. It looks out over the Kanchenjunga Range of Mountains. It has a very good shop selling jackets, sweaters, and other stuff. It is a good quality items priced reasonably. My Agarwal is in charge.

Great place to stay. The road leading to the resort is a single lane (taking u-turn is impossible and if 2 vehicles came on opposite sides it was v hard). The place itself is amazing with beautiful views including Mt. Kanchanjunga. Manager stopped by to check if everything is all right.

The experience, overall, of staying at the Sterling Darjeeling was very good. The resort has received a significant face-lift and is a much better place to stay at now. The Fitness Center and the wifi could offer an area of improvement though. In hindsight, it seems like our booking at Hotels.com mentioned the room being with Mountain View whereas actually it was not. We did not bring it up though.

Excellent service Good food Can take taxi to anywhere Bad part is you cannot walk out of the hotel at all You must always have a taxi to go wherever even into town. There is no place to even take morning walk. No garden No heating in rooms-very cold in room

Hotel was not in Darjeeling centre but about 9 Km before that in a place called Ghoom. However the property was well maintained and had a contemporary look. Our stay at the hotel was nice, check in checkout and stay was all smooth.Food cooked at the hotel was nice as well. Only negative was that the hotel did not provide any room warmer in the standard room as i stayed there early November when its quite cold in Darjeeling.

Overall we had a nice stay. The staff were helpful and courteous and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Look out for the duplex cottages. There are two sore points though: 1. The food prices are exorbitant. Since the property is detached and you do not have dining options nearby you are left with no option other than paying a hefty price for some average dishes. 2. The photo of the room posted on Expedia while making the booking was not representative of the actual room.

Facility was too cold in march. Even lobby where we had to sit to be to on internet was cold and uncomfortable. No internet option in rooms. I would be happy to pay for it. No TV channels work in the rooms. There was nothing to do in the rooms in cold weather with no internet and TV. Food can be improved. Need different menu every night and need some Punjabi dishes.We were forced to eat in the hotel every night due to limited access to outside,cold weather and limited restaurants in the city. Good food in dining hall,improved drinks in bar,TV / internet in rooms, warm lobby could have made our stay enjoyable.

The only good thing about the stay was the excellent hotel staff. They were so polite and ready to help. They just did not have the tools to do that. The inside of the rooms was really in bad shape ... needs a big makeover. The kitchenette cupboards are falling apart, the bathroom stinks all the time, the tiles are broken, the towels are treadbare and stinking, the carpet is stained all over, the beds are just ok. Its more like bare minimum hotel than a resort. The breakfast buffet was though quite good. But all over the carpets, towels, tablecloths, tiles, kitchen, walls , roofs etc need a big big maintenance.
