I can't express how much I adore mama naka and the other sidemen in general. The simplicity of this peaceful little charming hillside hamlet and its peace and serenity that it brings me cannot even be described. This is real Bali at its best. It is a tranquil little hamlet nestled among terraced rice fields, between verdant mountain peaks. There is one little road where you can easily stroll around the village without worrying about traffic, loud, ugly motorbikes, or traffic jams. The entire village relies on local businesses or, at least, partners with the locals, which is great news because each little villa and restaurant is genuine, with honest owners, honest service, and no overdevelopment (think seminar or kota) to block the immortal views you can enjoy from every direction. You can hear nature sounds from the moment you wake up until the night. There are only two lovely little villas in a charming little garden with rice fields and distant mountains. I was so impressed with what I was getting for the amount I paid. Mama naka is managed by a Balinese family. I call him mango, and he is incredibly kind and pleasant. Onsite, there is also a modest eatery. The food is fantastic and is served in large amounts, it is a fantastic value for money! When I was about to drive back to Denpasar

Staying with ari and his family was a pleasure. The two villas are spotless, clean, and beautifully situated, with a view out over Mount Aging. They are a little out of the town, but they are also very peaceful, with only evening songs from a temple across the valley and the charming call of geckos filling the air. The valley offers a far more realistic view of Balinese life than the hubs of Bud, Water or Kota. Walk through the village or paddy fields in the early morning to see a wonderful world come to life. Ari made our stay very comfortable, collecting us from our previous guest house, entertaining our kids and dropping us at tandang Bai at the end.

Really good view and clean and comfortable room. Ari and his wife Au did their best to keep us happy. For breakfast, delicious banana pancakes. Lovely views and centrally located. Easy to walk around. Friendly hosts and always smiling.

We have visited this villa. You can see the old villa with a lovely bed, mosquito net, and bathroom. The owner, named ari, is a kind man who really likes to laugh with, but he also is very good as a chef and a fantastic tour guide who can reserve a rice field tour to the village where he was born and swim in a nearby river. So incredible, I will come back here.

I really enjoy my stay at Mama Naga. Ari and Au were lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful. On a clear day, the villa faces a rice field and has beautiful views of it ageing. The breakfasts were delicious, and the restaurant food was delicious, with vegetarian and vegan options if you ask. Sideman is a beautiful village without the commercialism of the south and a great place to relax. Would definitely recommend!.
