Great location with friendly staff. We stayed in the apartment around the corner from main hotel. Very spacious and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety to choose from. Would highly recommend the location as it’s a 20 minute to the train station walking on basically 1 Main Street.

Perfect location in Bologna, next to Basilica of San Petronio and Piazza Maggiore. Very comfortable room. "Boutique Hotel" had very friendly staff, fantastic breakfasts. Area is quiet despite its location.

Inconsueto e Impeccabile Ci sono alberghi comodi, alberghi belli e alberghi di alto livello. Poi ci sono luoghi come l’Art Hotel Commercianti, che riescono a offrire qualcosa di molto più raro: un’esperienza autentica, coerente e profondamente curata. La posizione è unica: praticamente nel cuore di Piazza Maggiore, immersi in una Bologna storica e viva. È ovvio che raggiungerlo richiede un minimo di attenzione per la ZTL, ma sarebbe assurdo considerarlo un difetto: oltretutto le istruzioni minuziose che vengono offerte - quasi 'imposte'! - prima dell'arrivo rendono praticamente impossibile l'errore. Quello che colpisce davvero è la qualità del racconto che questo hotel ha saputo costruire (non amo postare foto non necessarie, ma in questo caso credo che ne valga la pena, come esempio di alcuni dettagli all'interno della camera). La rievocazione storica non è mai artificiale o “scenografica” nel senso banale del termine: tutto appare pensato con gusto, misura e autenticità. Si percepiscono la cura, l’attenzione ai dettagli e perfino l’orgoglio con cui questo luogo viene custodito e raccontato. Il personale contribuisce in modo determinante alla qualità del soggiorno: accogliente, professionale, presente senza essere invadente. Si ha continuamente la sensazione che ogni dettaglio sia stato studiato per offrire qualcosa di diverso dal solito. Per chi viaggia per turismo è un’esperienza affascinante; per chi viaggia spesso per lavoro, come me, è una sorpresa rara. Raccomandato.

I stayed here for the Bologna children's book fair and it was an absolutely incredible location, so central and above all a beautiful hotel to stay. Staff were incredibly helpful and kind, the breakfast was gorgeous and the room stunning. So many incredible details and attention to care including 24 desk service. The hotel packed me a breakfast bag for my early 3am flight and booked a taxi for me. I felt very well looked after here which whilst travelling alone felt lovely, highly recommend!

Lovely historical hotel. Beautiful rooms and common areas. It was such a joy to stay and enjoy Bologna. Could not be more central and quiet. In love with this hotel! From the moment I checked in and went up to my room, I fell completely in love!! This hotel is an absolute dream come true. I’m not just talking about the location, with Piazza Maggiore just around the corner, but I’m talking about every perfectly thought out detail you could ever possibly imagine. Book a room with a terrace if you can! Here was my initial impression, and everything was above and beyond a golden standard. The room was absolutely perfect. I booked the deluxe double room with terrace and breakfast included. The room had 1 double bed, extremely comfortable. My stay was 5 nights.  Room may be small for some people’s taste, but this room has everything you need, and more than I could have possibly ever needed. Even a sweet and unbelievably delicious chocolate was on the bed with a note saying “Enjoy your stay”! The room has a perfect armoire with a safe inside and plenty of space to hang clothes. The bathroom is stunning with all amazing toiletry products, nice marble, the best, most soft hooded bathrobes, vanity, a stool, a scale, and a nice window to let in some fresh air. Room includes a minibar and a nice little seating area, also with complimentary ready to make tea and coffee and an electric kettle. Balcony is so nice, with ample space, and a very cool view, looking to the left of my view is Piazza Marrgiore.  The signage in the room is cute, and I love the book in the room w the history of the hotel. I just love this place!
