Overall, this is a wonderful spot to stay and a great price for that location, but the stairs and the early morning alarm call from the cathedral should be taken into account. We stayed here as a family of 3 in April 18 and had a fantastic stay. Daniela was extremely helpful and friendly. She really helped us settle in and gave us great tips on local restaurants and drinks. We had a problem in the room, and we could not have asked for more. We were really impressed with the stay, but I think a few factors balance the overall rating. First and foremost, the position. Its the greatest advantage and worst drawback. Our room overlooked the Piazza del domo. A bit of awe-inspiring view. We spent many evenings just gazing out at the magnificent cathedral. The piazza outside the window is busy and so noisy until late into the evening, and if you want to rest peacefully the following morning. The cathedral bells are rung most mornings at 700 and 730. I'll say that it's definitely worth it to put up with the noise! The room itself was lovely. Really spacious in comparison to a comparable-priced hotel and decorated in an environment. The bed was also quite comfortable. The 80 steps up to the room on the ninth floor of the building can be quite difficult after a busy day and there

We had to open the closet, get a copy, and leave it in our room so we could have peace of mind. A small, clean and recently renovated room, on the fourth level of a building directly across from the main church domo. The advantages are fantastic location, good value for money, recently renovated, friendly staff manager and cleaning lady. The downside is that there is no elevator and no reception, so you must contact the manager to get the keys and arrange payment, and no breakfast is provided. Problem is they store the room keys in the closet in the main hallway, which remains unlocked and anyone can access and get a copy of the key and enter the room.
