Histroric hotel located in a small village 15km away from Florence. Excellent value for money, good breakfast. Facilities a little tired but not bad considering that in was built in 1905. No internet in room but available in the foyer.

Das Hotel ist eine einsam gelegene Villa, die vermutlich selten mehr als eine Handvoll Gäste hat. Das Personal war das freundlichste das ich seit Jahren getroffen hatte. Die Empfehlungen bezüglich Restaurants waren gut und ehrlich. Man fühlt sich ein wenig in eine andere Zeit versetzt und auch wenn das Frühstück klein ausfiel (was bei der Anzahl der Gäste zu verstehen ist), so entschuldigen dies die Größe und Ausstattung der Zimmer. Hier hätte auch ein Napoleon oder Sissi Urlaub machen können. Man entkommt dem Trubel Florenz, hat eine wunderschöne Landschaft um sich herum und ist in 30min auch in der Stadtmitte von Florenz (wenn man die Zimmerpreise den Parkkosten in der Florenzer Innenstadt gegenüberstellt, lohnt es sich übrigens auch außerhalb zu wohnen). Für Pärchen zu empfehlen!

sebbene il mio pernottamento sia stato all'insegna dell'impegno lavorativo ho davvero apprezzato il pernottamento presso questa struttura dove ho potuto respirare un'atmosfera magica, antica e molto rilassante. Nonostante le condizioni atmosferiche siano state veramente pessime e il tempo a mia disposizione limitato sono rimasta affascinata e mi riprometto di tornare a visitare questo luogo così intenso e carico di umanità.

A car is a pain in Florence but without one you miss the Tuscan countryside. This hotel solves the puzzle with hillside tranquility, free parking and a very friendly hospitality. Leave the car in the morning at piazzale Michelangelo and explore Florence on foot. After hours of hustle bustle, you will be glad at the end of the day to be heading for the hills, feeling at home at Giotto Park. As anywhere in Tuscany, bring some repellent because mosquitoes do come out in the evening.

Helpful and accommodating check in : I got delayed and called I would arrive after 10pm (time of desk closing). It got all arranged with keys left for me so that I could do a "self- check-in".

Giotto Hotel is a lovely villa in a small Tuscan village 17 km. north of Florence on a state route, and there is convenient bus service a few km. away with free parking directly to San Marco in Florence. Rooms are well-appointed and clean, breakfast is tastefully presented and amply adequate. and the staff is friendly with extensive knowledge of the entire area and able to communicate in English. Highly recommend the hotel to those with a car who want to experience a beautiful Tuscan village in the hills.

In toller Lage, hoch über Florenz und trotzdem perfekt als Ausgangspunkt für "Kultur" und Wandern. Mit dem PKW 35 Minuten bis zur Innenstadt Florenz, aber auch mit dem Bus (für wenig Euro) möglich, dauert auch nicht länger und man hat keinen Stress mit den Parkplätzen. Die Zimmmer sind groß (hohe Decken) und angemessen eingerichtet, Bad etc. ist etwas eng konstruiert, man merkt dem Hotel seine Bauzeit aus dem 19. Jh. an. Sehr schön restauriert, mit tollen Details - aber eben nicht Komfort incl. morderner Armaturen pur! Frühstück ist (italienisch) sehr mager - Brötchen, Scheibenkäse, Marmelade, Kaffee / Tee, aber auch Müsli. Naja. Essen (vorher Bescheid sagen!) ist schmackhaft! Service sehr freundlich und kooperativ.

Das Hotel ist kein normales Hotel, wie man es vielleicht sonst gewohnt ist. Es ist eine alte Villa mit einem kleinen eigenen Park. Es liegt 600m hoch in den Bergen und ist daher nur mit dem Auto oder Bus erreichbar. Dementsprechend ist es ideal für Leute, die eine Unterkunft suchen von der man dann die Toskana erkunden kann. Die An- und Abfahrt ist zwar abenteuerlich, aber macht dementsprechend auch Spass und der Ausblick von den Bergen z.B. auf dem Weg nach Florenz ist einfach toll. Claudia und ihr Sohn führen das Hotel und sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Claudia kann gut Deutsch und Englisch sprechen, ihr Sohn etwas Englisch. Die Kommunikation mit Ihnen hat stets gut funktioniert. Wir sind mit unserem kleinen Hund angereist und Claudia hat ihn sogar Gassi geführt, als wir einen Ausflug hatten, bei dem wir ihn nicht mitnehmen konnten. Die Zimmer sind spartanisch, aber haben alles was man braucht, es ist schließlich auch "nur" ein 3 Sterne Hotel. Das Frühstück ist simpel und italienisch (Brot, Kuchen, Butter, Marmelade, Nutella, Honig, Kaffee, Tee, Saft und Milch). Das Brot, sieht aus wie Brötchen, ist aber von der Konsistenz und Geschmack anders. Ich habe sie daher wie Croissants gegessen und gar nicht erst durchgeschnitten, was ein wenig schwierig war =) Aufgrund der langen Ausflüge nach Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano und Florenz haben wir leider nicht die Gelegenheit gehabt das Hotel Restaurant zu probieren. Wir würden wieder dahin fahren!

Very pleasant rustic hotel. Very comfortable, if a little old fashioned. The owners were very nice and incredibly helpful. One very minor gripe: the breakfast was very basic and the coffee was barely drinkable.

The hotel met expectations. A little dated, but clean and comfortable beds, room not too hot, meant we slept well. A base for exploring Florence, enjoyable in its own right. I imagine it's lovely here in the spring. Would happily return.

Wij waren de enige gasten op wat doorgangers na. Er was geen restaurant of bar in het hotel in werking. Wel een restaurant 500 m verderop. Zonder auto is het in deze periode (oktober) noodzakelijk dat je je hier op in stelt. Busregeling is beperkt. De eigenaresse heeft ons hier wel heel goed bij geholpen
