The location is fantastic with excellent value for the money. No set of steps outside the hostel, but it is direct into the center of the city, with easy access to the cathedral, other major sights, bars, and restaurants. You must be physically fit to use the steps if you want to take it in the morning, but this is an antidote to the tasty cuisine that is out there. Be aware that this is a hostel, but one in an intriguing old building with marble floors and wonderful views. Both private and dormitory rooms have their own bathrooms and showers. Our room for two people was huge, with a comfortable bed. It was clean and well-maintained. The reception staff was kind and accommodating, providing recommendations on parking and places to visit in the town. Wifi was available near and outside the lobby, and there was a decent continental breakfast included. If you can find a spot, ask reception to find parking spots. Our only issue was that our satnav struggled to locate the entrance from the address. Maybe a better position indicator would be helpful. But we were there and can recommend it.

My friends and I were in Il Castillo this week and spent three nights in the private room. Our room was perfect and had an incredible view! The bed was made every day and it was amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and the view from our room was incredible. Highly recommended.

This hotel was great, very friendly service and comfortable. The location is excellent. The room has some stairs, but to get there, either you need a car or you can make your own. There is a big family room for just the 2 of us, even though we arrived without a reservation. The last room was amazing with a wonderful view. Excellent value for money.

Upon entering this amazing place, I was in awe. This place has a breathtaking view of the city. The atmosphere is neat and the accommodation is spacious, with a kind and helpful host. Hopefully I will return to this place and many more times.

Our lack of Italian knowledge makes us believe that it is actually a youth hostel. The establishment's branding made us believe it to be a youth hostel. But they provide double accommodations for couples with extra, empty beds in the room. A fascinating antiquated structure with great views of the city's historic center. Good, easy breakfast but great high ground location and very helpful desk host. There are many stairs and an elevator that doesn't work. We stayed at the busiest festival of the year in the city. Bookings are difficult.
